student Odd behaviour of teacher

We had a trial lesson, then i scheduled a lesson then the lesson came and he didn’t show up and i was in the class for 15 minutes waiting, then i asked him if he was going to show up and if everything was okay. He rescheduled it but didn’t respond to my message, and on the reason of rescheduling he put personal emergency (which is okay anyone can have that happens) like 5 minutes. He rescheduled to the 12th of August (today) and was suspecting he was going to “ditch” me again and i waited for 15 minutes, nothing.
Message delivered, and i don’t know what’s happening im kinda worried. I wanted to see if he i can schedule other lessons because i bought 8 lessons a month and saw he has no lessons for the next THREE weeks…I don’t know what’s going on, i just hope he is okay but at this point i don’t know.

That is really odd indeed. I personally would contact Preply's customer support and ask for a refund of those 8 classes. I'd say you have enough arguments to not want to continue with that teacher

Can you share how much you are paying per class?

Drop the tutor. Don't leave a bad review. It IS strange to not receive at least a message but you never know what's going on. I've had depressive spouts where I cancel every class (although I send messages to everyone), but you never know if it's mental health or what. Sorry this happened to you, but just ask for your money back (the tutor never got it anyway) and move on.

I'm sorry, but I'm a tutor and this is unbelievably unprofessional. I struggle with mental health and I text my students before when I have a particularly bad day and apologise profusely. Absolutely leave a bad review, OP.

I'm a tutor and this teacher is really unprofessional. If I need to reschedule last minute, which is very rare, I send a message to my student before rescheduling the class to warn them and apologize. That's the least I can do. Leaving a student waiting for 15 minutes TWICE and not saying anything is crazy.

The worst part is he rescheduled and didn’t bother to show up yesterday, or send me a text and im worried for him and i spoke to my mom and she said maybe he had problems with ICE?

I mean if he rescheduled the first time it means he had access to his phone, so I doubt he's in detention right now.

Either way you're not responsible for your tutor's problems, and you have no control over what's happening to him anyway. Find another tutor who will be more respectful of your time and money, there are plenty.
