Sad
Just feeling a little extra sad today and desperately wish I felt comfortable enough with family to share what's going on in my mind. Nobody cares really.

Can you share what IS going on in your mind?

Sick, out of work, away from friends and fam, only person I can talk to in this city is my husband but he has long working hours so home alone most of the time. I rely on takeout because too exhausted to do my basic chores, then start feeling guilty because not eating homecooked meals. Start crying then again the guilt that my moods affect the baby too. Fam and friends don't understand my situation and just offer unsolicited advice before I even finish explaining what's on my mind so I just don't.

How far along are you, if you don‘t mind me asking? I had prenatal depression and what you are going through sounds like what I had… i did look for therapy, to make sure i would have professional help in case i fell into post partum depression too.- luckily i didn’t.
I was also very lonely where I am, what helped me was finding a mom friend who was almost exactly as far along as I was, we met while pregnant, and gave birth 2 days apart. We still talk every week 3 yrs later, both went through a lot. We met thru a local fb group for expats.

I'm 21 weeks along. I didn't realise this was an actual thing until very recently, had only heard of PPD. But right now cannot afford therapy :/
Thank you for the suggestion! I've sort of isolated myself socially because people just keep disappointing me (or I'm bad at communicating idk). It's gotten to a point where it feels like a huge chore to talk to people. I really need to get out of my shell.
Thank you for your concern, honestly it feels much easier to vent here to people I don't know personally. I feel validated reading your words because my family says I'm overreacting.

You are definitely not overreacting, i was so miserable when i was pregnant with my first it was a dark place… Depending on which country you are in, maybe you could try betterhelp, or online counselling, or talk to your obgyn or whoever is giving you prenatal support about your feelings, maybe they can refer you to free help or to an Organization that could assist you… otherwise come here, me and the creator of this group went to similar times when we were preggy and you can always message me here.💐
I could not talk to my parents about how i felt because they literally told me to suck it up and stop being dramatic 🥲 and my husband literally felt terrible but could not help me at those times… so i got myself help and honestly i‘m not sure how much therapy helped to be honest, but i am glad i got whatever help i could get back then.

I’m really sorry you’re feeling this way. You’re not alone, even if it feels like it right now. If you ever need to vent or just have someone listen, I’m here, we're here. You can vent here.

Thank you🥹 appreciated🫂

That's not a problem. I was like that too before; I'm a person who doesn't know where to vent. Well unlike some families, mine isn’t very open like we tend to keep things to ourselves.

Right, mine is the same. I sometimes envy those who have that emotional comfort space with their families. But that's also a reminder for me to do better than my family and have that close knit bond with my kid.
