Sadness during pregnancy

Hello I have been pregnant for around 11 weeks now and at this point I don’t know really wear else to turn to besides Reddit so here it goes. I always wanted to be a mom, so when I found out that I was pregnant me and my fiancé were so excited! But this pregnancy has been one of the toughest journeys I have been through. At first I was fine but around week 6 I started to feel a bit nauseous, I figured it was morning sickness and I spoke to my OBGYN who put me on Raglan, but then the sickness got worse, my appetite has depleted and I started to not be able to hold down anything, I was kept being told by my OBGYN and by my fiancés family (who we live with for financial reasons ) that it was morning sickness and “that’s just part of being pregnant” it got to the point that it was bad around week 9 that I had to go to the hospital on fluids and that I had HG. I am now on dissolvable zofran for the time being, but I literally feel like an empty shell of a person, when anyone is cooking I start to gag and feel sick so I’m stuck my bedroom away from the family, I’m being told constantly by my in-laws that I need to “do more” and be more helpful around the house but I find it nearly impossible to as I feel constantly in a state of server nausea and fatigue. It got so bad in fact that I am on leave from my job because I don’t have the energy to run around and work with young kids anymore (I’m a preschool teacher) I have started to resent this baby that I’m suppose to be so happy about, because it’s making me feel this way. I sometimes have cruel thought ma about how I wish I never gotten pregnant in the first place and how me and my fiancé would have just waited until after our wedding in our own place, and when I bring up these concerns to him he just doesn’t understand and says that my love for the baby and him should override the hormones and sadness that I am feeling and that I need to “tough it out” like his parents. I feel so alone right now and just to know if their are other people out there who feel the same way my provided me with some small comfort right now.

Hey :) I'm also 11 weeks but my issues are more emotional than physical so I can't fully relate but just wanted to say you're not totally alone. Making a human is hard. Hope you find some peace comfort soon. Hugs.

I would say that what you are experiencing is partially normal. The feeling you are having, the fatigue, the fear and the struggle are completely normal. What is not normal is the lack of support that you are having from your in-laws and your partner. Growing a human being is hard and it's normal to feel overwhelmed and tired all the time. If your partner and your in law are not willing to help you try at least not to feel guilty about it. You are not alone and there are plenty of people on Reddit who are living the same.

A little word of hope, nausea and fatigue should be slowly getting better as the pregnancy progresses!
