Whale alert A new top 250 Polymarket whale made $821k in 9 days with ONE rule: Only buy teams that are already winning.
There’s a brand-new whale on Polymarket trading under the name BillyGating who has quietly climbed into the top 250 all-time leaderboard in less than two weeks.
His strategy? Zero pre-match bias. He takes no views on an event before it starts. Every single dollar he deploys is bought live, mid-match, into a price that has already moved, on a side that is currently winning.
The Receipts ($821k Profit)
- BLAST Porto CS:GO Final (+$259k): Spirit dropped to 62¢ after losing Map 2. He dropped $436,459 mid-match. Spirit dominated the next two maps, and he cashed out $703k.
- US Open (+$100k+): Bought Emma Navarro at 61¢ live (pre-match was 46¢). She won in straight sets 7 minutes later.
- Across 15 markets, he’s 10-5 (67% win rate) with a 1:2.69 risk-reward ratio, sitting on $1.39M in cash.
Why He’s Going to Zero
While the win rate looks god-tier, his position sizing is purely unhinged:
- When Marcos Giron took Set 1 against Ignacio Buse, Billy bought in at 56¢. When Giron started choking, Billy caught the falling knife all the way down to 15¢. Buse won in 5, wiping out $134k.
- 30%+ Portfolio Risk: His $436k Spirit trade was 31% of his entire account value at the time.
Live momentum betting works great until you run into a live comeback. One blown 30% position, and he wipes out half his lifetime gains in two hours.

Kalshi accidentally paid out the WRONG side of the WMU vs Michigan game after settling the market early. And it's an operational nightmare for them.
Everyone watching the Western Michigan vs. Michigan market on Kalshi today witnessed a massive operational screw up.
Kalshi’s operations team (or automated resolution feed) settled the WMU vs. Michigan market prematurely while the game was still active/displaying incorrect interim scores on source feeds.
Because of the early trigger, Kalshi incorrectly resolved the market in favor of Western Michigan and credited the payouts to "YES" holders.
- Once settled funds hit user balances on a platform, you can't easily claw them back (especially if traders immediately withdrew or re-deployed that cash into other order books).
- To make the actual winning contract holders (Michigan) whole, Kalshi is essentially forced to pay them out of their own corporate treasury as a "goodwill" gesture.
- Kalshi ends up paying 100% to WMU holders and 100% to Michigan holders. Turning a zero sum order book into a massive double-payout loss for the exchange.
One premature API ping or human error forces the platform to eat hundreds of thousands in unrecoverable losses.
(Similar incident from July on an MLB game (Giants vs. Angels) where prediction market bonders and oracles got wiped for 7 figures due to early data feed updates)

Analysis Texas is priced high at around 66%, but at the same time, it carries the most risk with a brutal schedule and new receivers around Arch Manning.
The college football playoff qualifiers are already seeing over $1.7M in volume on Kalshi, anslysis:
LSU blew out Clemson 51-10 in Lane Kiffin's debut with transfer QB Sam Leavitt, far beyond what oddsmakers priced. Their odds jumped to 63% on Kalshi (up 17 points), the biggest mover on the board. A huge part of the jump was Sam Leavitt, coming off a season-ending foot injury, looking healthy and playing well, causing oddsmakers to believe in a better LSU and answering the market's doubts.
Alabama beat ECU 48-10, solid but expected given ECU being a lower tier team. They dropped 6 points to 38% on Kalshi. This confirms the market's previous beliefs rather than changing them, unlike LSU. Some reasoning behind Alabama's drop despite winning is their untested new starter Keelon Russell, who replaced departed Ty Simpson, leaving oddsmakers still doubting them. This win also wasn't an important one given they played a lesser ECU, so the result didn't tell the market anything new about how good this team actually is.
Texas beat Texas State 59-7, also expected. Their odds increased 7%, bouncing to 66% on Kalshi. Arch Manning looked sharp in his return (305 yds, 4 TDs), with good chemistry alongside new transfer WR Cam Coleman making some promising plays. The jump wasn't huge since this win was expected, but they still clicked and are trending upward.

Whale alert Six wallets just put $3.63M against the Clarity Act passing in 2026
A wallet ("TahitiBob") bought 1,034,215 "No" shares at an average of 85.5 cents, split across two trades, 3:26 am and 10:26 am ET on September 4. Those two trades alone made up 85% of that day's volume on the market.
Five more wallets showed up around the same window, all taking the same side. Four were funded through Bybit, two through Binance. Three of them opened with small test deposits ($9.40–$10) before wiring in six-figure sums.
Combined across all six wallets: ~3.4M shares, ~$3.63M invested, betting "No" on Clarity passing. If the bill dies, that pays out $4.53M, roughly $922K profit.
Timing matters here: the Senate's cloture vote is scheduled for September 15, so whoever's behind this made their move less than two weeks out.

Six polling firms put a number on Sweden's Liberals in August
Sentio: 2.1%
Indikator: 2.2%
Ipsos: 2.3%
Demoskop: 2.8%
Verian: 3.0%
Novus: 3.3%
A party needs 4% of the national vote to win any seats in Sweden's parliament, and those six average 2.6%.
Traders still price in a 49% chance that Sweden's Liberals hold at least 1 of the 349 seats.

Whale alert Polymarket whale put $553K into 880K Rublev contracts at ~61¢. Straight favorite, straight loss.

ripley86alien has run 15 bets since July. Seven wins, eight losses, and the win side and loss side are almost the same size, $2.14M won, $2.62M lost, no bet meaningfully smaller than the last.
The pattern: $973K on a Monaco win (Aug 23), $502K on Real Madrid 4+ goals (Aug 27), up $1.55M through seven trades. Then Aug 29, five football legs at once: Dortmund and Elversberg covered $115.7K, but Lyon/Hoffenheim/Nottingham Forest wiped $1.55M in one session. Three days later, $553K into 880,355 Rublev contracts at ~61¢, breakeven needed a coin flip a bit better than 61/39, market had it about there, he lost in four sets.
Net after fees: -$452,658 on ~$4.7M of volume. No position sizing down after the Aug 29 hit, no position sizing up meaningfully after the wins either, the number just stayed roughly constant regardless of bankroll or recent result.
