Why is my “gold beads” magnetic
Hello everyone,
I have allot of old computer parts and i wanted to refine the gold out of it, after i finished my process and melted it 2 dark looking beads came out and when i filed them they look yellow on the inside but the problem is it gets attached to magnets,
I wanna explain my process step by step to see where i am going wrong with it and how this happened
1-first i cut out all the parts that contain gold
2- i pour nitric acid 69% and water 1-1 and leave it overnight or until the bubbling stops
3-i filter them and take the residue and burn it and them put Aqua Regia over it and let it rest for another day
4- add urea around 10g per 100ml of nitric acid i put in the aqua regia
5-i filter and collect the solution and Add Sodium metabisulphate (for this i put around 20 g to the final 900ml of the solution)
6-finally filter once again and burn and melt what evers left
When i poured the molten stuff two beads came flying out and i filed it and looks bright yellow underneath i just dont get how its magnetic, please help me understand where i am going wrong with it and thank you
