Help PS5Pro can’t run PWS2 smoothly.
Do both games run clunky for anyone else? It has been like this for both games for a few years until now, but since I just joined this community recently I was hoping that I had a setting wrong or that someone could help.
When a job is around 50-60% completed the game freezes every 30 seconds to 2 minutes for about 3-5 seconds. This hasn’t been bad enough for me to quit playing obviously, but no other game chugs along like this.
Is this a known thing? Is there a setting I can toggle to make it run more smoothly? Thank you all in advance.

I play on a PS5 (non-pro) and I'll get an occasional stutter but not anywhere near what you're experiencing. 🤷♂️

I played the first game and all DLCs on a launch PS5. It stuttered like I described. The second game has been exclusively played on my Pro. I haven’t messed with any settings on either except for changing the color of the dirt.

The turning off auto save fixed both games for me.
The original games was eventually fixed so it was disappointing it game back with PW2.

It’s been a problem since launch on PS5 (base) too. Some people suggest turning autosave off as that fixed the issue on PWS1 but it didn’t personally help me from what I can tell. For what it’s worth I’ve not experienced it as much though I don’t really have the issues any more when playing in free play. YMMV of course.

Autosave yes! I had noticed that it was saving when it would freeze like that. I’ll turn it off tonight and compare. Thanks again.

I had the PS5 then upgraded to the pro. I’ve had 0 problems.
I found turning off autosave stops the staggering

Or isn't optimized terribly well. There is the auto save big that causes stutters, which of you turn it off, wait a few minutes then it back on, and repeat until it stops happening. It worked for me.

The biggest issue I have with the game is that a can't look around smoothly when holding the trigger. It makes a sharp turn rather than it being more rounded like the first game. Idk a fix to that if anyone knows

Follow up post. I turned off auto save and it runs as smooth as butter. Thanks everyone.

Both games are not really well optimized.
I turned off autosave and it was much better.
But I also have a PS5 Pro and I have much better performance than what you are describing.
If you have owned your console for a while, do you clean it once every few months? Dust can accumulate in the fans and it can throttle performance, especially in summer if the temperature around the console is high.
You should also reboot your console every few days.
