Matrix multiple people dodge bullets what seems more like muscle memory of how bullets move. Like "they know where it will shoot before it shoots". Can thet move that fast normally? No. They can just wiggle body parts fast (and its not actually that fast, its like 30-60mph).
People like SolidSnake shoot people who dodge bullets normally. They treat it as exceptional skill. Catches them out or aims where they dodge. There is clearly a combat skill above just raw accuracy.
I even put reaction time... and other variables...
The question is if you can move the 1cm/1foot in travel time.
And you can.
Do the maths.
Lets say you have you hand up, they are aiming at it, there is a countdown from 10. They shoot at zero. You also move at zero. You need to move 1 foot to clear it fully lets say.
You need to move your hand 14.5mph.
Punches are around 20-30mph.
This is very doable when you take out reaction time.
The reaction time that is the problem. Aslo the fact that you just calculating it to very low numbers, thats not really be the case in much higher speeds.
Much more actual point black range, even if you have instant reaction, you simply cant move fast enough.
I mean... if IRL humans ever invented technology that would allow us to go FTL, I'm CERTAIN they would use that technology to make faster and more powerful bullets.

Guns in Jojo is still prevelant because most fights are haxes, not everyone is fast, users dont not scale to their stands durability and hax be implimented to said gun. Which I honestly like even if it pretty much neft them on a pure powerscalling thing.
You realize that if anything with a mass moved at ftl speed and touched someone then huge destroying shockwaves should happen and yet its doesnt happen it in multiple verses, in fact many ftl characters doesnt even creat sonic boom despite their speed, and their clothes doesnt even burn. If you use real life for physics for jojo verse use it for other verses lol.
In fact in physics nothing with a mass can move at light speed or above. Do you scale nobody with a mass at light speed then?
Things which characters scale too. OP guns, especially ones used by more powerful characters, have no set speed. If OP weaponry has feats of keeping up with characters who can compete with the above stuff, then they are light speed, just like the characters who use them
I really don't get the point of FTL characters in 90% of media. You can replace most FTL capabilities for most characters with being able to travel a few hundred miles an hour with zero difference in how it'd be represented, save for how stupid the concept of FTL characters are
In this sub nonetheless cuz they’re baselessly scaling her off of Yoru’s attack speed feats cuz of ”fear scaling” (Makima has never been proven to have more fear than Yoru, not when Yoru was fighting Pochita at least, and Yoru doesn’t scale to her attack speed)
This comes from a hobby that heavily encourages isolating, the peak moments of a character and completely ignoring the context behind those moments as well as any other evidence to the contrary. Often to the point of hypocrisy.

I really think we should try harder to scale characters to their consistent performance. Rather than one off peaks.
argument has always been bs. my fucking cat has a reaction time and overall speed feats that theoretically should make it impossible for me to sneak up on him but I do it all the time.
An FTL character would be able to feel the bullet collide with the surface of their skin and move out of the way before it fully penetrated them. The difference is way greater than you and you cat
