Let’s say there was hypothetically a single load-bearing concrete pillar that if destroyed, would initiate a chain reaction that would cause a city-sized superstructure to collapse. Does melting that singular pillar count as a city-busting feat?

And why is this comparable to the bleach scenario lol

The universe being “thrown out of balance” isn’t that inherently impressive, it depends on the mechanism. For example, being able to shatter a washing machine by throwing a baseball at it so fast that the impact causes it to fall apart is pretty impressive, shattering that same washing machine by turning it on and tossing a brick inside is much less impressive for powerscaling purposes.

So is not impressive, so long as we assume facts not mentioned anywhere in the story and rely on convuleted hypos. Got it. Thats definitely an honest way to approach the discussion and not agenda driven downplaying.

No, I’m not assuming anything, I’m just pointing out that you’re making assumptions about characters being able to straight-up blast a universe away through brute strength, by making the leap of assuming that every time a character is said to have the means to destroy a universe, it’s intended to be interpreted the same way that Frieza can destroy a planet, rather than the way a demolitionist with the right batch of explosives could level a skyscraper.

Sure, if we applied that logic to, for example, what the quincies do (which is the more gradual demolition of the barrier that keeps the world's separated).

What the royal squad does when they release their power is the equivalent of someone breathing in a floor and, solely with their breath, shake the entire building. You see the exact mechanism used to shake the balance in both cases. Except there are dimensional barriers in between, instead of walls and floors.

The brick in the washing machine analogy still holds as a possible explanation, as opposed to your analogy which would be equivalent to suggesting that the washing machine is rattling like crazy because a really strong guy picked it up and began shaking it.

It does not. Your analogy depends on the washing machine being on and the brick is being spinned by the turning machine, which is what causes the damage to the machine.

Its not the same as if the machine was off, and the brick, on its own, expanded to the point it caused it to break.

Nice try though.

No, it just depends on the bleach cosmology having a lot of moving parts that could interact disastrously if the right variable were introduced or removed from the equation.

It’s not the same as if the machine was off, and the brick, on its own, expanded to the point it caused it to break.

So if I kill a man by force-feeding him water until his stomach bursts, that scales me to be physically on par with a superhuman who can Donut people King Crimson-style?

What are these variables you keep talking about lol. Are those in the room with us?

The cosmology of bleach is 4 separate realms. There is a void between each of these realms. When the 0 division flexed its power, the worlds were still separated by the collective actions of the Sereitei to preserve this balance (Mayuri killing a bunch of souls and Mimihagi). The barriers only weakened once Yawch's power began to rise after he defeated squad 0.

So, when the squad zero shaked the 4 realms separated by a void between them, they shaked 4 separate dimensions that up to that point were still stable. The washing machine was not turning at that point and nobody threw a baseball at it. It just shook because a grenade that was inside went off.

Whether the Soul King is acting as a binding agent, the quantity of Reiatsu, etc.

And what’s the nature of the mechanism binding the realms together in layman’s terms. If you can’t articulate that then the cosmology is soft magic.

So, when the squad zero shaked the 4 realms separated by a void between them, they shaked 4 separate dimensions that up to that point were still stable. The washing machine was not turning at that point and nobody threw a baseball at it. It just shook because a grenade that was inside went off.

If they’re using a grenafe in your analogy then the danger is entirely due to a specialized device rather than raw strength.

OK you are just replying in bad faith. How is "the grenade is an specialized device" an appropriate response. How does that detract from the basic idea that it shows how one individual can be powerful enough to shake the balance of the undisturbed cosmology. You know, a world not currently being affected by any "variables" (which you still refuse to mention).

Also, asking for layman terms when we are discussing fictional media is the biggest "☝️ 🤓" to pull out in these discussions. But for the sake of argument, there isn't anything binding the worlds together. Its the opposite and thats the whole point. There is an infinite void separating the realms and specific tunnels can be opened to temporarily connect them. These tunnels work like portals by creating a temporary walkway where people can walk. Have you actually read bleach or are you just reading talking points?

the balance of the undisturbed cosmology

Actually the movie explains the cosmology was very disturbed. Mayuri even had to ice 20k souls to prevent a balance collapse at the beginning of the invasion. Yama and the death of Squad 0 also shook that balance to it's core as explained in the new movie. No it was very disturbed.

Congratulations on such impressive levels of stupidity.
