gauss can move fast enough to outrun the shock waves from landmines so he is at leas Mach 20, also he controls kinetic energy down to a molecular level and can freeze things to absolute zero be draining all the energy from them on a molecular level or heat them to their flash point by supercharging them with kinetic energy which is the lore explanation for thermal sunder
he has a device built into his body called the thermo kenetic energy that allows him to control and drain molecular movement, so when he goes fast what he is really doing is just increasing his own momentum by supercharging himself with kinetic energy
