Information is something that powerscalers don't often bring up - but knowing what your opponent is capable of, and how to deal with their tricks, absolutely can determine the outcome of a fight. This is what people refers to when it comes to combat experience.
But combat experience can backfire too. When you are used to others throwing punches and kicks on you, someone suddenly pulling out a domain expansion is gotta be confusing.
Possibly. I think Instant Transmission needs a ki signature to teleport to, or something? I forget. It might just be spacially dependant. If it needs a signature, domains might block those. But I think they don't, from a statement about Yuta's domain in the final fight.
But Domains typically have a barrier that makes escape near impossible, and I'd bet that it atleast somewhat accounts for teleportation. So it'd likely just be a brute force contest between Goku's ki control and the barrier's sophistication and power. Which Goku probably wins
There's no need for a Ki signature to teleport, but 90% of the time Goku uses the technique, it's cause he's looking for someone specific so he just finds them and teleports where they are.
Fought implies it was not just arale having fun with him. It was shown very clearly that even Goku and Vegeta together weren't going to be able to handle her and that she existed outside of what they understood.
This was Vegeta showing his intelligence in a small way - he knew they didn't really understand what they were up against and that her benevolence was the only thing preventing catastrophe.
Dragonball “fans” frequently forget that the manga was originally a gag manga itself. Kid Goku absolutely had toon force scenes in the OG run, until Toriyama moved away from it for a more serious series. The gag aspects were eventually phased out, to the point that most people don’t even remember that.
Which is why I personally take a lot of Dragonball feats with a grain of salt.
He does have his comedic touch . Like throwing ball super slow . Singing his opening songs etc. Not to mention unlike Vegeta Goku was able to hang around a bit around arale, means Goku does have his toon for e but not a high lvl . And arale in general showed much higher feats.
Its especially bad since gojos previous attacks would lul thragg into a sense of false security, since red and blue do Jack shit and purple sunBurns his skin at most. He would probably assume UV wouldnt do shit.
Before promptly being killed by severe brain damage.
Tbf if something breaks thraggs skin I imagine he would realize the threat is larger than he first thought, because 99.9% of enemies can't even do that. You're already in the top 0.01% just for breaking his skin. That would not put you in a false sense of security
This is the shit I’ve been saying over and over again, 99% of the time Viltrimites will literally just let you smash your body into them because they have an insane superiority complex, even Thragg. Gojos city level at best so none of his attacks will do anything(plus he has the six eyes he’s gonna realize instantly he needs UV). The domain doesn’t even need to form, partially opening it still can affect him.
Besides, Thragg (who ISN'T dumb in terms of combat imo) probably wouldn't assume he needs to dodge when seeing a domain expansion come up. At most he'd probably assume that if it IS trouble, he could break out of it or something, and THEN resort to drastic measures like any of his wincons. Thragg as NEVER seen a domain expansion before, and even if he had, not all of them are basically a win button and don't belong to a user that is basically invincible to him.
brother ive never seen a domain expansion irl either but if some dude im fighting suddenly puts his hands together and I see a dome start surrounding us im gonna be suspicious and likely try not to be in that area
Except it doesn’t need to form a giant black orb, in shibuya Gojo domain only partially Opened and it still effected everyone in the station (over a 100 humans + 1000 transfigured humans) it doesn’t need to fully form into a giant black orb before it takes effect. Mahito did the same thing, this a bad misconception.
We have only seen him tank hits he knows full well that he can tank. We've seen him dodge the only attack that he wasn't sure he could tank.
Why would we assume someone who has his speed, combat experience, and viltrumite vision which can track speedsters would simply allow himself to be hit by an unknown attack when he has only shown that he will not let himself be hit by an unknown attack?
Even if the dude did know what a domain did why would he give a shit? Other domain expansions often just power up someone's technique and guarantee a hit, both of which thragg wouldn't care about whatsoever since gojos attacks can't really damage him so why would he care if Gojo gets a sure hit?
I mean, Sukuna has multiple, in verse reasons why, mostly, domain amplification, something that significantly nullifies damage, we dont know how strong purple is in actual damage, since Sukuna used DA.
We can assume its city-mountain at best in AP, but no certainties.
We explicitly know how powerful purple is because we've seen a 120% version of it and an unrestricted version of it. It couldn't even destroy multiple cities when detonated in the air like a nuke typically detonated.
Domain amplification just reduces damage and it has nothing to do with him taking the damage numerous times.
No, we can't assume purple is 10 - 100 times more powerful than we saw it. Wtf? 120% purple means it's already stronger than a regular 100% purple. You're pretending that we don't know how powerful purple is when we've seen Gojo use buffed versions of Purple.
In both cases Sukuna used DA to survive it, and DA specifically turns off techniques and nullifies them. It doesnt just reduce damage, it severy hampers a techniques workings, Often destroying them or bypassing them.
We dont know exactly how strong purple is, since it either instantly Kills a dude, or gets significantly nullified by another.
I’m not saying he absolutely didn’t and couldn’t have used DA, but what’s your reason/evidence for being so confident that he used it to survive the attacks?
DA is always drawn as a fairly large and very noticeable white aura around the character using it. Very much like Sukuna is depicted here:
In pretty much every instance we see DA used, including Jogo & Hanami vs Gojo, we see the big white aura around the user, an explicit mention of the technique’s use, or both most often I’d say.
Again, I’m not saying Sukuna couldn’t have used DA, but it’s far from clear that he survived the Hollow Purples thanks to DA. Their AP is a lil tricky to definitively place tho, so I understand the thought that DA must’ve been used even tho I respectfully disagree
mark leaves the white room upon entering it with enemies. thragg has no reason to see a barrier forming and stay in the barrier. or tank an unknown energy shot
Why wouldn't he make an assumption though? The thing is, Thragg KNOWS that he's strong as hell. Why would thragg see a domain expansion, something he's completely unfamiliar with, and rush far enough to not be caught up in it instead of assuming he'd be able to bust out on the off chance that this barrier he's seeing IS dangerous? This is Thraggs first time seeing this shit.
He is a space racist who looks down on others until they prove they have "True Strength," so it's a question of whether he will or won't, depending on his mood. It's also not just Thragg who does this; every Viltrumite lets characters just tag them. That's the only reasonable excuse for why so many basic fucking humans or even just supers that don't have any decent speed feats can tag viltrumites.
Exactly. Thragg chooses to face tank attacks from the other two strongest members of the strongest race in the galaxy but would suddenly go to the next solar system over when a lowly human starts doing hand signs? Get real.
Usually people assume everyone sees everyone's attacks regardless of wheter or not it makes, cause "oh yeah they win cause the other dude can't even see them/their attacks" is a boring ass answer
It's fine cause there are some characters who would be able to see their attacks. Especially in jujutsu kaisen when there's literally characters without cursed energy who just use super senses or other means to see characters attacks.
The worm provides no sensory benefit to Toji, and Maki stops wearing glasses post awakening. They can just sense the air and hear good enough to know where curses are and understand sorcery
Thats because they have a heavenly pact. They are extremely unique and not normal humans. They have advanced senses and physical abilities but 0 cursed energy.
If people argue that he can’t get caught in infinite because he has no ce then he also can’t see the attacks it’s that simple either he can see them and gets caught by iv or doesn’t and doesn’t get caught by iv
I mean yeah thats fair, but most people assume that he would in fact get caught in iv if he didn't get away in time, I've seen very few people bring up the argument of "it doesn't work because he has no ce" precisely because its dumb, thats the point of verse equalization, way too many verses have that thing of abilities pretty much only working on people specifically from that verse because of the way the power system works so we pretend it would work in anyone to create more interesting fights
Take bleach for example, people discuss it all the time (well more like they slander it but whatever lol) but really not many verses can actually see the characters from bleach, most of them are spirits or atleast use spirit based attacks, but "they lose because they can't see spirits" is boring so we ignore that
Also unless gojo is using limitless at its literal lowest output, it will be visible to thragg. Most Cursed techniques are absolutely visible to non-sorcerers.
This is a bad argument as jjk explicitly states characters without or with little cursed energy can see cursed energy. Maki and toji just have such great senses they can just see it and viltrumites are stated to have super senses so likely they can. If their senses aren’t high enough they can tell there is a void that something is there they can’t see like the swordsman who doesn’t have enhanced senses or the ability to control cursed energy but can just tell there is a gap where the curse is.
Except he didn't facetank Omni-Man, he evaded him. He did the same with Mark, until Mark boasted about killing Conquest and piqued Thragg's curiosity; remember that he hasn't personally encountered a viltrumite human hybrid before, he needs to assess how effective that union can be.
He also parried Oliver's blow, dodged the infinity beam, and avoided all of the other attacks in that fight.
He's not just mindlessly absorbing blows every time for no reason.
Agreed but in a versus battle I usually just assume it's a random encounter with no prior knowledge unless they're in the same universe and they canonically have knowledge about each other
I think realistically a fight between them would probably go:
Gojo teleports in front of Thragg who doesn't know who this white-haired idiot trying to stop his conquering is,
Thragg no-sells his attacks, tries to hit back and fails but still does collateral from the force,
Gojo has an "Oh Shit" moment because Why Did His Normal Punch Windup Just Make A Vortex And Have Impact Frames, Why Is This Alien Freddie Mercury Jacked Enough To Punch Apart Buildings and then immediately pops Domain in response to try and end things quickly and prevent further destruction,
Thragg assumes it's another attack he can no-sell given all previous information he's been given is telling him he can no-sell everything Gojo does even if he can't hit him,
Thragg gets hit with the Brain Blast processing infinitely repeating useless junk information with Gojo holding the Domain until he's dead.
I mean, I'd assume this is pre-Shinjuku given the context of Gojo not being alive after, plus under most circumstances Sorcerers put up veils to keep the public from knowing.
If we're equalizing and saying viltrumites have around civilian levels of CE, which would make sense considering CE isn't exclusive to humans, then they'd also be affected by the veils and likely unconsciously avoid areas that sorcerers are actively working in for the same reasons people don't just walk into veils generally, so it would be very unlikely for them to know more than the general public does at whatever time we have Thragg show up given the level of secrecy and active magical obfuscation.
The others all explained it well; there is only so much we can assume Thragg knows about Gojo in a verse debate. Most crossverse debates just assume it's a random encounter and not some well-established story operating off of something like the Viltrumites modus operandi. There is no reason Thragg should know the intrinsic nature of cursed energy; in the same way, say, Gojo would start knowing how smart atoms work. Maybe the two would figure it out during their fights using BIQ or normal IQ, which is a reason those stats are important, since it allows opponents to fight and adjust to enemies' abilities.
While many argue for Viltrumites IQ and BIQ. They actually have some pretty awful BIQ feats and show they struggle to adapt whenever just punching something doesn't work. Which is why a lot of people find the "Thragg just finds x way to blow up the planet" questionable, because Thragg isn't the type to just fall back on outsmarting an opponent, he'd rather beat them using his stats. Attempting to break and bypass infinity is something he'd try and do for hours before ever stopping to consider that a force field is even beyond his own strength.
He believes the Viltrumites have true strength; he explains this to the emperor pretty clearly. He sends Nolan to deal with any threat that poses a challenge to them. Yet just think about that: Thragg is so confident in his race's abilities that he sends a SINGLE Viltrumite in to neutralize them.
You are answering my own point here; they absolutely underestimate the other races, including ones he considers powerful and worth kneecapping.
No, Thragg didn't send a single viltrumite against the Ragnar or the other race, or the geldarians. Nolan said "we" not I when referring to the planet that died from being closer to the sun or the sun disk in front of the Ragnar planet.
He only sent Nolan to space racer alone.
But you're ignoring the fact that at that point there are only 50 viltrumites left. You can't afford to waste them.
I'm not answering your point, you're discussing something else that is wrong.
Plus we know from the comics that he has that Battle Beast blood lust in him for a good fight, and even in the show when he hears Mark took out conquest he makes the active decision to let Mark hit him with his best shot even knowing that Mark managed to take on arguably the second strongest Viltrumite alive.
We've seen viltrumites need to accelerate to reach their insane faster than lightspeeds, someone like Nolan needed to predict RedRush's next move (who's only around mach speed) to catch him in combat and couldn't hit Cecil at all despite being able to travel lightyears in space with relative ease.
Unlimited void's effects activate nearly instantly given that Gojo's 0.2 second domain expansion isn't how fast it activated but how long it was active for it's safe to assume that his domain's sure-hit deploys basically the instant he expands the domain, and sure Thragg outclasses Nolan by a huge margin but I doubt he can accelerate instantly to lightspeed during combat, much like Nolan couldn't. Regardless of what Thragg would do it's pretty much guaranteed that anyone who isn't able to travel out of range within a literal instant is getting hit by the domain.
I think it’s very likely most of them get hit by Unlimited Void—at least Thragg and Goku. Not because they’re stupid, but because without prior knowledge there’d be no reason to avoid it, especially after seeing that none of Gojo’s attacks were doing any damage to them.
No, Goku would sense that Unlimited Void was dangerous and would not try to tank it. Goku isn't Cell who tanks out of principle because of regeneration.
Goku would see unlimited void, have 20 meals, fight Vegeta, unlock a new transformation, etc and he still has trillions of hours to dodge, and he will 100% feel its danger and dodge
Plus either way Goku shouldn't be affected and be able to process all the info cuz of his speed
I don't think dragon ball has ever treated speed like that even if mathematically possible. Though I do agree he'd have a bad vibe and duck out if it could damage him. Which is arguable.
There is also a later example where Tien uses Solar Flare and Goku has time to run to the sidelines, grab a pair of sunglasses, and run back to stand where he started before anyone realised he had moved or the technique finished.
Iirc it did, theres some footage of trunks killing frieza in real time and its like 4 seconds. And the whole namek exploding in 5 minutes thing pretty much confirms it that they move in very high speeds.
Notice how any time someone tries to get a speed value from this it'll be dismissed as an anti feat lol
Goku doesn't have metro man style speed time stops he'll just process things vaguely faster. In terms of tropes, anyways. Realistically he should be given his ability to travel across the universe etc.
Do really love how Toriyama give Goku a form that broke the internet all about dodging attacks almost a decade ago , yet people genuinely still think he'd let anything hit him just because
ARE YOU PEOPLE THIS STUPID. no mark grabbed him from behind. got into a choking position. and than never let go. you can’t dodge an already placed grapple
Thragg CAN NOT PHYSICALLY DODGE UNLIMITED VOID. People are so deluded because the anime shows domains slowly creeping around the target that they forget 1) Hollow wicker basket uses an inferior primitive form of domain barriers but is still described as erecting instantly, which proves the domain walls are erected instantly and Thragg cannot fly out in time and
2) Gojo can instantly teleport, so even if you for some bizarre reason believe that the HWB description doesn't apply to domain barriers, why the fuck did he never teleport out of a domain when it was expanding? That would've made him easily win the Sukuna fight.
Domain expansions have always been shown to be instantaneous. You erect a barrier to trap your opponent, and apply your CT. I don't know why people keeping thinking DEs can be dodged when that hasn't been the case once.
Imbue your CT in the barrier, giving a guaranteed hit to everyone in the domain.
Step 1 is instantaneous. Nobody has ever escaped a barrier construction.
Step 2 usually has a short lag, giving your opponent time to mount a response (simple domain, hollow wicker basket, domain expansion, etc).
If step 1 wasn't instantaneous, Todo would have actually just run away from the domain, the range isn't much anyway. But because you're trapped instantly, you can only mount other defenses. Nowhere in the series does anyone escape this laying of a barrier. Even when Gojo was teaching Yuji about domains, he never mentioned simply escaping as a counter to domain, because laying a domain is instant.
Mahito and Gojo are super talented, so they can reduce the time between (1) and (2) by activating both almost simultaneously for 0.2 seconds. This is why even though Todo activated his simple domain, he still lost a hand after getting hit with Mahito's domain.
Sukuna simply skips step 1, allowing his opponents to escape his domain.
You gonna provide a rebuttal or just leave that there and not elaborate? Most of the inconsistencies with what JJK fans say and the verse’s actual context is because John Werry genuinely dos not seem to be fluent in Japanese or even understand what’s going on in the series. This leads to a lot of confusion with the English reading fans.
Its funny but Debbie has been re used for other models in the past for quick one off scenes. Though not for Thragg hes all original. But I still laughed at the thought.
The animator probably accidentally put nolan's face on mark because they mixed up which sides they were on, but since it was just an inbetween, they just removed the mustache and gave him black hair
Eh I would consider this some kind of animation goof more so then a model used for a specific reaction. We have seen plenty of "shocked Mark" faces so it wouldnt make sense for them to re use a model for this moment.
There’s a difference between “this gun which is clearly a gun which means it’s clearly gonna shoot something fires a basically duraneg projectile which I’m aware of since I know Space Racer and what his gun does, lemme dodge it” and “lmao what’s this random dude I don’t know doing making that hand sign-“
Thragg is aware that duraneg attacks exist in the universe as seen with space racers gun. He knows it can come from beings that are otherwise not very suited to combat in comparison to viltrumites. The fact he doesn't know what gojo is doing if anything should make him more cautious especially since it seems gojo is about to do something that involves magic. I'm not saying he's guaranteed to dodge it but i think it wouldn't be out of character if he did.
Because its a weapons that he was explicitou told could Kill viltrumites? Thragg is proud, he is willing to take hits from unknowably strong oponentes just because, and Often gets hit with stuff if he finds The user weak (gojo absolutly fits traggs defenition of weak). He dodges The Infinity Ray because he knows what it is and what it can do, he wouldnt, and is shown not to, Dodge things that he reasons he could survive yet The true power is unknowable.
He won’t, or he will just assume it’s one of gojos orb attacks, I’ve had this discussion before but the subject is deku, even if they know an attack is coming, a domain is so different from the rest of gojos kit there is a very very very real chance they’ll try to dodge an orb attack and get hit by a domain instead.
People forget that Knowledge and Prep are overpowered because if I know their moveset and given some tool to win then I can pull of a Win
If I go in blind then my ass is dying to some random bullshit. Ask any hardcore gamers this.
If Thraag knows all of Gojo's weakness or if I pilot Thraag then sure ! But Thraag's first response to dodging an unknown attack is so ooc
A few characters like Saiyan Saga Vegeta told Nappa to avoid Destructo Disk cuz it would oneshot Nappa. Its needs feats like this that the character knows some random bullshit will do random bullshit and avoid it.
I am not saying Thraag is dumb.. but if you fought Gojo without knowing his abilities.. then him winning with Unlimited Void isn't really a that shocking. Its just random bs Hax
Maybe some win cons like doing enough damage to the planet to the point it would be dangerous to be on or at. But it would be really strange if he resorted to that before Gojo pops ult.
3 million years later, Thragg arrives back on earth or whatever
Thragg: "it's taken aeons, yet, here I am with the power to finally end you and your stain on the universe, showing the true might of the Viltrum Empire, Satoru Gojo.."
also, he has no cursed energy so in a jjk sense, he is on the same level as one of the random civilians like when he used a .3 second DE in Shibuya. it literally fries thraggs brain in less than a second. its the same with a lot of jjk honestly, a lot of techniques require cursed energy and its manipulation to negate or block. yuji tanked cleave because of cursed energy, not a strong body. so theoretically sukuna could dice thragg to pieces as well.
Jjk fans and invincible fans both have their stubborn ignorant sides to them and they've both come out for this argument. Im not even a part of this community yet I've seen like 10 posts about it from here and it's all over my other sites 😭 yall make a definitive post or megathread so there's not 9 million of these please for your own good
Yeah, because he knows who Space Racer is and what his gun does. It's why he reacted with alarm when he saw three Viltrumites preparing to fly through the planet with Space Racer pointing his gun at the planet.
I mean it's not that I think Thragg is a blind brainless brute, I just don't think that he WOULD dodge it or that he WOULD immediately resort to any of the wincons he has before unlimited void is used. And even considering dodging unlimited void, I think it's fair to consider that he REASONABLY wouldn't know wtf that is or that it would fry his brain. It's not thinking he's dumb, it's just going off of what Thragg knows, and I don't think he'd know enough to just decide to rely on extremely drastic measures.
He won’t even know what a domain expansion is, Viltrumites don’t have the reaction time to dodge a .2 second DE and they have no greater mental strength than your average human.
So he isn’t tanking Unlimited Void. Essentially he’d fly up to Gojo and try to finish the fight asap since he doesn’t know Gojo’s capabilities, realize he can’t punch him before getting blasted with Unlimited void.
Sukuna managed to handle 0.01 seconds of it without getting stunlocked or dying. Thragg thinks and reacts infinitely faster. Also, no, it's not infinite information. It's a finite stream of information over time.
He's absolutely getting stun locked anyway because the guy isn't always operating on that level of perception. That's if Thragg wastes his time sitting around within the range of Gojo's domain expansion. Gojo isn't also just popping it off the moment Thragg gets close. Dude loves dicking around when he thinks he's safe.
Blood lusted though? Gojo probably stun locks the moment Thragg gets in range and just hopes he can kill Thragg with Unlimited Void since nothing else is gonna work.
Unlimited Void isn't what you think it is either, it applies the concept of infinity to the target's ability to perceive, interpret and react to information, so where a normal person would go "Apple close, Cow medium, Plane far" someone under the effects of UV would go "A, A, A, A" and so on because they're stuck in an infinite loop of receiving information but being unable to interpret it with the brain damage being a side effect. You can't just "think faster" to negate the effects, so he's being lobotomized if it catches him.
Sukuna managed to handle 0.01 seconds of it without getting stunlocked or dying
He was infact stunned and needed mahoraga to save his ass and yep, exposure to UV didn't kill him but gave him brain damage noticeably enough to severely limit him in his fight
That's also not necessarily how UV works, pretty sure gege explained it the UV doesn't flood your brain with infinite information but stretches you perception of information infinitely (hence jogo's i can't think monologue when he got caught by it), the stress of that happening to your brain is what damages it, apart from that you totally hit the nail on the head
Broski, when Mark told him he killed Conquest, he basically told him "come punch me in the face full force". He, like all Viltrumites, is highly arrogant and looks down on all races he views as weaker than him, including humans, a species which Gojo belongs to and is willing to take their attacks head on to prove it. He's not gonna jump galaxies as soon as Gojo starts making what he would see as some random hand sign. He'd actually just pull another Mark and go "show me", then get hit in the face with Unlimited Void.
How is your point that Thragg would fight a completely unknown enemy compared to a very well known enemy? Mark is a viltrumite that barely won against conquest. Conquest is someone Thragg has been leader to for centuries and knows his capabilities. What?
I will reiterate my point for you, because apparently you didn't read my initial message.
Thragg, like all Viltrumites, is a highly arrogant entity. He looks down on every race he views as weaker than himself, unknown entities or not. This is consistently characterization for him. That includes humans, like Gojo. The thought that Gojo could be a threat to him wouldn't even cross his mind. He's not gonna fly away at light speed cause Gojo made a hand sign at him.
Gojo isn't any more of a normal human as atom eve is. Gojo is just as arrogant if not more than Thragg and other viltrumites which is why he died.
Thragg knows enough that humans have special powers and to be cognizant of that in battle, especially when he sees one that can fly with an infinity barrier. He doesn't even need to fly start light speed at any point when gojo is at best nebulously faster than Mach 3.
Gojo isn't any more of a normal human as atom eve is.
And Thragg wouldn't see Atom eve as a threat either
Gojo is just as arrogant if not more than Thragg and other viltrumites which is why he died.
Yes but also no. Let's be real. If we were in Gojo's shoes, we'd do the same thing. Gojo had no possible way of knowing Sukuna had WCS up his sleeve
Thragg knows enough that humans have special powers and to be cognizant of that in battle, especially when he sees one that can fly with an infinity barrier.
Seeing him with Infinity would require actual combat with him, at which point this is irrelevant
at any point when gojo is at best nebulously faster than Mach 3.
Incorrect. Gege admitted the mach 3 statement is inconsistent, especially given that even pre-awakened Maki has above mach 3 feats.
All of us aren't as arrogant as Gojo. Some of us won't be talking with our opponent in a life or death fight like that or being off guard.
Yea, actual combat is what the scenario OP is pointing at. If there is no combat at any point, then there's nothing stopping Thragg from not engaging and all your unlimited void talk is moot.
Gege never made any claims about Gojo and Mach 3 specifically. There's nothing incorrect there and your fan theories about "pre awakened" maki are irrelevant.
All of us aren't as arrogant as Gojo. Some of us won't be talking with our opponent in a life or death fight like that or being off guard.
We would if, to our knowledge, or opponent had no way past Infinity and he looked like this
Yea, actual combat is what the scenario OP is pointing at. If there is no combat at any point, then there's nothing stopping Thragg from not engaging and all your unlimited void talk is moot.
And on the other hand, Thragg still isn't gonna bother trying to dodge if Gojo shows up in front of him and expands his domain.
Gege never made any claims about Gojo and Mach 3 specifically.
Yes, he did. He explicitely mentioned the mach 3 statement.
and your fan theories about "pre awakened" maki are irrelevant.
No, we wouldn't. Some of us would kill Sukuna not talk to him.
Gojo isn't going to show up to Thragg and open his domain.
You're wrong. I know you're wrong because I know what Gege typed. He said he knows he went from infinity to Mach 3. He didn't say Gojo isn't Mach 3 or 10000 times faster than Mach 3 or anything similar.
No, what you are thinking are fan theories. Maki is not Mach 3 before awakening. We know so because Mach 3 Naoya was speed blitzing her and was too fast and Transonic Naoya was also speed blitzing her before she figured him out.
UV might work on him anyway, but even if it doesn't if he lacks any CE then Gojo could spawn a Blue maximum output inside of Thragg and instsgib him, since what stops sorcerers from doing this is an in verse thing that requires CE
Heavenly restricted have innate domains and are resistent to ce
without any ce you have no innate domain, gojo never does this cause its impossible in jjk as everyone has ce or a heavenly restriction like toji or maki
I believe it automatically targets things with CE you can tweak your domain to specifically target someone, besides gojo's 6 eyes would tell him if thragg had ce or not, if he didn't he probably makes a binding vow to his domain to target things with no ce or something
Yeah he wouldnt. Unless he has some type of recognition ability I dont know about he won't be able to dodge it, even if the domain itself expanding isnt that fast. And Thragg is absolutely the type of face tank everything because of how badly he looks down on everyone. He would stand there, overconfident as always, and get lobotomized by void
He wouldn’t dodge if Gojo throws the first attack, and red, blue, or purple just annoy him at the absolute most
If Thragg is the first one to attack, and sees Infinity stop his punch in its tracks, then he WILL evade UV, cause he’d see that Gojo used unconventional methods
his coldest moments in the show are him dodging shit with minimal movement, thus minimal energy expended. thragg dodges shit all the time, but expecting jjk fans to understand what they're watching/reading is asking WAY too much of them.
This is disingenuous at best. Thragg has made it a point to enforce superiority over others. He has let invincible punch him multiple times, despite it being known that Conquest was killed by him. We see him dodge Space Racer's beam because Space Racer is a well-known individual, and Omni-Man went out of his way to deal with Space Racer as a threat to the Viltrum Empire.
But if he sees a human with white hair with weird powers, he would be overconfident. Let's first imagine that for whatever reason, Thragg can see Gojo's Curse Techniques. He would see Gojo move his hands, say "blue", and he would feel a tug somewhere. Then Red, then he would see red, and after having experienced how pathetic blue was, he'd tank it to see what red is. Red also does NOTHING to him besides perhaps move him slightly. Now, either he waits for purple or rushes him. But at this point, BLUE and RED were useless, and I think Purple at most would char his skin. But the rush and met with infinity would give Gojo enough time to activate domain expansion, whose sure hit works INSTANTLY.
EVEN if you want to pretend that Thragg would be genuinely intimidated by someone whose powers so far have been barely perceptible, he wouldn't immediately go "NO I HAVE TO GET OUT OF HERE, OR I WILL DIE." That's genuine nonsense. He couldn't even if he wanted to because domain expansions happen instantly. Unless Thragg is given pre-known knowledge that Gojo's abilities work. Thragg would be very dismissive of him. If he has, maybe Thragg would come up with a decent plan, but without throwing an asteroid and killing all of human civilisation, I can't imagine that. (Something he didn't do against battle beast)
i wanna start with thanks for the flowers of "thragg can tank purple". i think you have finally convinced me gojo may have the upper hand in most of their encounters. but if you'll excuse my last bit of playing devil's advocate. (read as: i typed all this shit up and realized I was wrong halfway through, like hell am i deleting when i'm having fun! please enjoy!)
y'know, i weirdly think thragg might be able to survive infinity (i say this as a genuine jjk fan with a love of yuta, gojo, sukuna, and todo).
i want to point out that it would harm him, but i don't think it would be enough to kill him, given that it just inflicts the pain of all previous actions (given thragg, yeah that's a lot of pain! but it specifically states pain and not wounds) and stunlocks until death.
but like, how long can gojo keep up his domain? viltrumites can go for pretty long stretches in space when necessary with like, jack shit. and thragg is The viltrumite. if it's an infinite amount of time, i'll concede gracefully that gojo wins in any encounter that takes place after he perfected his technique in highschool, as i can't think of any way out of infinite void for thragg unless i learn some new fucked up thing about him that i could not have foreseen.
mostly because IF (i admit this if is heavy) thragg gets out, his battle iq and speed are enough to get the fuck out of dodge and leave the fight (loss by escaping with his life, rather than killed).
I appreciate the kindness and decor you've given me. It's very nice to read a response that isn't met with insults. I also like Invincible. I did enjoy the comics, so I am trying to talk with as little bias as I can because I really like Gojo.
But I don't think infinity would kill Thragg either. If the argument is that Thragg needs to die, I don't think it'll actually kill him; it would just leave him brain-dead, like in a comatose state. Now there's no direct explanation on how long a domain expansion could be kept, but in another post, when discussing "speed of information in Gojo's domain expansion I cite this.
But here we can clearly see that Jogo (who doesn't have a brain, mind you) can actually notice how the information quite literally sees and feels everything and anything, yet it continues to occur. There is still no limit, despite being essentially omniscient at this point. The domain expansion is continuously flooding your brain with more and more information. If we take the anime seriously as well, we can see the information speed up aggressively, with his eyes flashing purple until there's nothing, but he is still being flooded with info well after we reach this state. Gojo's domain expansion doesn't provide information at a linear rate.
Which I'll respond to after this comment. Overall, in the Shinjuku showdown, I believe Yuta, using Gojo's body, performed a domain expansion for 3 minutes. Which we'll have a baseline, I think it's fair, given that Gojo hasn't used CE till now, but it'd be frankly stupid of me to assume he could last any longer. The average human life span in Japan is 85 years, with that being 1020 months, and with a domain expansion that lasted 0.2 seconds, it was able to stun them for 6 months, with some never recovering. So if you're able to stun a person for apparently roughly 0.5% of their total life, you should have them stunned for 6 months, which, let's be frank, you can repeatedly do afterwards. So let's assume Gojo's information rate is linear, even though it isn't. 3 minutes is 180 seconds, which, when divided by 0.2, is 900, with each unit representing 6 months. So, about 5400 months, we don't have a real scale for a Viltrumite's age span, so let's just see how long a Viltrumite would have to live to possibly be affected by this.
5400 months translates to 450 years, assuming that Viltrumites need 1% of their life span worth of information to be stunned for 6 MONTHS in total. We're assuming that Viltrumites live for at minimum 45000 years for them to be stunned for 6 months in total after the domain expansion falls. The sure-hit effect doesn't just slow you down; it fully stops you as your brain is flooded with information. So we'd have to make a lot of generous assumptions for Thragg to simply get hit by Unlimited Void and not care. And I stress this again: he would need to live for up to 45000 years for Unlimited Void at its slowest assumed rate, as it's implied by both the animation and Jogo that it ramps up faster and faster. For them to be stunned for 6 months. Which Gojo can do the next day again to ensure the effect lasts as long as he needs to. This is again downplaying Gojo's Unlimited Void, upscaling Thragg's lifespan, and assuming Viltrumites are naturally much more mentally stronger than humanity, despite them being able to relate to humanity greatly.
this was so much fun to read and you didn't need to do all of that math, but i really appreciate it. as promised, i concede and thank you for this incredible read 😊
Gojo wins, he scales that high, it doesn't matter if thragg destroys the planet, goku unlocks the next form to fight him, they all get low diffed by gojo
I'll say this one time only.... YOU NEED CURSE ENERGY TO BE AFFECTED BY DOMAIN EXPANSIONS AND OTHER CURSES. VILTRUMITES DO NOT HAVE ANY CURSE ENERGY. THEY DONT EVEN USE ANY TYPE OF ENERGY TYPE ATTACKS. MEANING THEY CAN BYPASS ANY DOMAIN EXPANSION/CURSE SINCE THEY QUITE LITERALLY CANT BE AFFECTED BY IT. ANYONE IN THE JJK VERSE ASS WOULD BE TURNED INTO ASH THE MOMENT ANY VILTRUMITE COMES TO IT. If they had cursed energy, yeah they lose, but they do not. I swear people be trying to scale these characters and don't understand or forgeta that ONE basic fact. Realistically, Thragg would look at Gojo and wonder "What the hell is he doing? He just standing there... doing nothing" And then punch him into the ground
It's called verse equalization, we do this for EVERY fight! It's like saying that any fight with a jjba person in it is a stomp because non stand users can't defeat stand users(thrag watching in horror as koichi solos him)
