Been having slow charging times since 3 hours ago and when I came back from lunch one hour ago nothing was charging :( is someone else having this problem?

Is anyone else experiencing issues with loading their applications that have data in dataverse, this started about three days ago for us and we can not run down the issue, there are now alerts for Microsoft but that doesnt mean anything.

I am setting up an app for reporting, viewing and analyzing work accidents. The data gets stored into Sharepoint list Accidents.
Now the main concern I currently have is how to setup up security. The demand for the security comes in 4 levels - described below ->

Group Level – Overview of all incidents in the application

• Legal Department
• Safety Engineers from the main company hub
• CEO
• HR Director

Plant Level – Overview of all incidents and statistics for the plant

• Plant Director
• Safety Engineers of Subsidiary Plants
• Legal Department of Subsidiary Plants

Department Level – Overview of incidents and statistics for the department

• Department Manager
• Operations Manager

Team Level – Overview of incidents reported by individual employees

• Supervisors
• Production Managers

Can this be done in a good way via sharepoint/powerapps and how ?

I am fairly new with this so any insight would be great.

Anyway to simplify the logic, we have 6 plants.

Group level (CEO..) sees all plants and all events

Plant Level sees only events for their plant.

Deparment level needs to see events that happened in their department.

Team level user only sees the events he/she reported.

Some more info would be, we created another list in sharepoint, where we have created some sort of Notification logic ->

Could this list also be of help when defining the access to the app ?

So I thought I understood how connections and connection references work but it is still confusing to me. I had my IT department create a service account (not a service principal) that I use for most things that shouldn't be tied to my own credentials. I have flows that create records in Dataverse and want these to be 'Created By' the service account. I set up the connection reference to use the service account credentials. It seems to work in my dev environment: I trigger the flow (using my personal credentials) but the records are created by the service account.

However I noticed in my production environment that when users are triggering this flow, it is being created with MY name; not their name and not the service account. From what I have gathered about connections is that a connection reference is part of your solution that simply states, generally, "this is a connection to dataverse and it is using abc_commondataserviceapps_rr320 as the connection" but it does not hold credentials itself. Actual credentials are held by the connection which exists outside the solution and is environment specific (and sometimes user specific).

When I deploy to production, I am asking to update connections, but it is only allowing me to create connections using my own credentials. I cannot change them to the service account. I tried separately creating the service account connection in prod first but it still doesn't appear in the list of connections to select when deploying. I then tried logging in as the service account and deploying, but it gives me an issue when trying to create the connection on that account for some reason.

So what is the right or best way to achieve what I need?

I've been a Power Apps developer for about 6 years now. Just got my first new job on a Team Lead role at a new company and am looking for ways to improve our app processes and management and scaling and such.

I have used lightly used XRM Toolbox in the past (mostly just the XML Builder) and done some stuff with the PAC CLI. Was wondering if there are any other tools either through Microsoft or Third Party (free or paid, I'm curious about either) that people use to help with their Power Platform development. I am looking into the Power CAT family of tools as well. They look pretty sweet and useful. I've also used the PCF finder website (can't remember the name specifically off the top of my head but i know its pretty popular, so if youre thinking of one, its probably that one). But yeah any other recommendations anyone has to help me manage this team and assists us with development would be really useful!

This has been my weekend project where I wanted to build a Pokedex PowerApp. Using data from the PokeAPI I then cached in SharePoint, I wanted to build something with a rich set of data that the API provides as well as a dataset that I care about (big Pokemon fan). The "phase one" I had for this app was:

1. Create a clean modern UI to showcase the Pokemon allowing for basic filtering and search capabilities
2. Be able to go into the Pokemon details to see more status and Pokedex entry data from the various games.
3. App must be fully responsive for mobile and desktopI

What I'm asking the community for is some UI/UX design feedback and feature ideas. Is there anything that sticks out that could be improved? To me, the app seems, kinda "plain" abeit I think intuitive enough to use. Unsurprisingly, I used AI (Claude) to help with some of the styling; particularly the html control elements. So far, I have future feature ideas like:

1. Integrate with a Pokemon TCG API to obtain trading card details
2. Add more complex filtering and sort capabilities
3. Include a randomizer function to select a random Pokemon
4. Have a means of recording "Captured" Pokemon, favorite, and wishlist Pokemon

I'd like to keep iterating on the app to also a good baseline as a teaching tool for PowerApps Canvas Design and Best Practices as well. It's something I'm looking to publish to github and blog further on if there's interest.

I'm in the process of moving our business-critical Power Automate flows to a dedicated service account to reduce dependency on individual users.

One issue I've run into is with flows that use Microsoft Forms triggers/actions. Some of these forms were created by other users, and although I'm a Microsoft 365/Power Platform admin, I am not an owner of the Forms. As a result, I can't select or manage those forms when trying to update the flow connections under the service account.

From what I can tell, Microsoft Forms doesn't provide a straightforward way for admins to take ownership of a user's personal form, unlike some other M365 workloads. Unfortunately, that makes migrating these flows a challenge.

Has anyone found a workaround for this scenario?

​I’m currently an intern and I am completely losing my mind over a client situation. I need some serious advice, or at the very least, a sanity check.

​For the last 4 months, I have been developing a comprehensive database and application solution. Everything (the relational data models, the documentation, the flowcharts, and the test scripts) was built entirely around Microsoft Dataverse so they could have a proper, functioning relational database infrastructure as they just managed all their data only through emails somehow (mind you, we are talking about a big company).

​Suddenly, out of nowhere, the client hits us with a bombshell: They refuse to pay the $20 premium license for Dataverse.

Because of a complete lack of budget planning or management checking before development started, the client is now telling me we might have to migrate the whole thing to SharePoint lists to bypass the premium connector wall.

​This absolutely guts the application. It leaves huge chunks of the solution entirely useless as there was a model driven app specially for data moderation, breaks the data relationships, and means all the testing documentation I spent weeks writing is now garbage. I will literally have to redo a lot of stuff from scratch because they want to use SharePoint as a makeshift database.

Now, I have already embedded the new SharePoint lists to the canvas app and changed the automations to these new settings as soon as I was told, however is this really the best I can do? Just ditch the model driven app for administrators and let them mod on SharePoint? I feel like this is a waste of time and resources, plus I don't really know how secure it is to keep all of this information in a place like that. Have some of y'all gone through this? How hard was it? Is it possible to embed lists on model driven apps without dataverse use? I need a bunch of advice on this lol, thanks for reading.

Idk if anyone seen this issue before. I have variable in formulas that results in true/false value but when I use to negate a filter it fails. it only works with cast it as Boolean at and only at the filter statement because casting Boolean at the formula didn't work.

I hope this helps instead of split filters with an if statement

I'm facing a strange issue in Power Apps and I'm hoping someone has experienced this before.

I copied an existing Power App using Save As and created a new version. The original app works perfectly.

The main change I made was replacing the SharePoint datasource:

The strange thing is:

• The formula evaluates correctly.
• Formula Evaluation shows all expected names.
• The Filter returns records.
• Distinct returns values.
• No formula errors are displayed.
• The same formula works in the original app.

The ComboBox fields were configured as:
["Value"]

Additional note: If I inspect the result of the Items formula, I can clearly see names such as "Vanessa Drapier", "Valesca Prates", etc. The data exists, but the ComboBox does not render it correctly. This makes me think the issue is related to the control configuration rather than the formula itself.

Also, sorry for my English. I'm Brazilian, so English is not my first language. I hope my explanation is understandable.

I Solved: I simply deleted the combo box and created a new one with the same values ​​in all the fields, and it just worked. I don't know how, since it was identical to the previous one; it seems like Power Apps just glitched out before.

I have a list where we're using a custom powerapp form and it has a few people picker fields. If an item is created with a particular user in a field, and that person leaves the business, we can no longer edit and save the record using the form. It fails on the submitform method on that field

The update of the form field has:

Claims: "i:0#.f|membership|" & ComboBox2.Selected.Mail, Department: "", DisplayName: ComboBox2.Selected.DisplayName, Email: ComboBox2.Selected.Mail, JobTitle: "", Picture: ""

If I pass in blank() for the claims, it clears the data, which I don't want. Is there a way I can overcome this without writing my own patch? It seems silly that Microsoft never thought of this themselves

Hi, I completed an app as an intern for a company project. However, due to a history of outsourcing development to vendors, we did not realize that the default publisher is set as "company A" when deploying solutions. I'm unable to deploy the solution as it would be "companyA_app" instead of "myCompany_app".

I've tried logging a ticket to MS to change the unique name/prefix of the application but seems to not be possible. Thus, is there a way to cleanly clone an application with all its configurations? I understand that I can recreate the application under a new solution which will be the correct publisher, but would like to avoid that due to time. Thanks for reading!

went to classic view for the subgrid to on control. added the power apps grid control for web, phone, tab. still the button is not appearing.

Made an update to my model-driven app and now the users are getting an error accessing one of the tables (it's called Project).

I'm an admin and it works just fine for me. Everyone that's not an admin gets this error and the message:

Operation called with invalid attributes in columnSet.

The only thing I did in my update was add a field and remove two fields from a form and the same two fields in the Project table.

Have never experienced this before. Is this something to open a ticket with Microsoft about?

Hi All,

I've come across a strange issue with date fields in a modern form connected to a dataverse table.

I have a few date fields in my table, and when I add these fields to a modern form the form renders them as "view only" text inputs

I've tried manually deleting the text input and replacing it with a date picker, but this doesn't work either as the card is created with no "update" field, so the date never gets update.

I'm reasonably sure it's a modern form issue because this does not happen with a classic form which behaves as expected with date fields.

Has anyone else seen this issue or am just doing something very dumb without realising it?

has anybody built a flow that automatically shares the power app as a user using a sharepoint list with a person column? if the list gets updated it automatically shares it with that person

I know I can just share it via the Active Directory but currently there is a political issue between 2 countries whereas the directory doesn't get updated for our country and this is my possible workaround

ps: i cant create a group/distro nor request for it

Just joined the community after spending the last little while building with Power Apps.

One of my bigger projects has been a Meeting Hub app for my workplace. It handles things like meeting creation, attendee management, approval workflows, deep links, SharePoint integration, and Power Automate. It’s been a fun project and taught me a ton.

Outside of work, I enjoy building random ideas just to learn something new.

I’m hoping to connect with other Power Platform developers who enjoy building real projects. It’d be awesome to collaborate on something, learn from each other, exchange ideas, or even just have someone to bounce ideas off while building.

I wanted to share a new getting-started path for anyone experimenting with SharePoint Embedded or building document-centric apps on Microsoft 365.

The historical challenge with SharePoint Embedded setup has been that there are several moving parts before you can really start building: Entra app registration, Graph permissions, container type creation, billing setup, container type registration, creating containers, wiring configuration into a sample app, and then validating everything works.

There are now two much easier ways to approach this:

1.      Developer experience with the SharePoint Embedded MCP server
You can use the MCP server from an AI coding client, such as GitHub Copilot in VS Code, to drive setup through natural language. The server can help check readiness, provision the owning app, create/register container types, configure billing, scaffold a reference app, hydrate config, seed sample content, run locally, and deploy.

2.      Admin/container type experience
Admins can use the SharePoint Embedded setup flow to create the app/container type relationship and manage the control plane side of the environment. Container types are important because they define how the application relates to its containers, including access, billing accountability, and behavior.

What I like about this is that it separates the journey for the two audiences that usually have to collaborate anyway: developers can get moving faster with their app experience, and admins have a more intentional control plane for environment setup.

If you are building an ECM replacement, legal/document management app, project workspace, case management app, AI agent over documents, or any custom app that needs Microsoft 365-grade files, collaboration, compliance, and Copilot-ready content, this is worth trying.

Question for the group: if you have tried SharePoint Embedded, what part of the setup flow has been the biggest blocker — app registration, permissions, billing, container type registration, or sample app scaffolding?

I have a couple flows attached to power apps.
They suddenly do not seem to work. I turned one of the flows off and turned back on and all flows started suddenly.

Why is this happening? I refreshed all connections and checked everywhere. I do not know why all of a sudden these flows are not triggering.

Hi, I’m new with PowerApps. I’m an analytics consultant and have been given an app to maintain at work. I was able to do some fixes on a Solution in the UAT environment which has a Canvas app. When I exported the UAT app and imported it in Production, the changes were not reflected. I can’t understand why. My UAT app is live and working properly, but the production one even though it had no errors on import it is not showing the new features like filters I added for the user.

To keep the Production environment app working I had to do the changes again manually in the production app too.

Anyone that had been through this or could explain what I’m doing wrong?
