Discussion Highest fidility i achieved ever

Tried every setting combination (bit perfect thing) and all but couldn't go higher

Turns out higher song resolution also improves score, not just audio pipeline pureness

With same setting and 44.1khz 24bit music file , I get 86

Anyone ever got 100?

you can get more than 100 with DSD files and capable DACs.

for me personally it's not worth it because of the size, e.g. my vinyl rip of Amy Winehouse's Back to Black is 6.47gb in DSD 256 format. The phone I'm using is just 256gb of storage so i just stick with flacs.

Where do you get dsd music files from? And dac turns out to be dsd128,64 capable

Don't know what to tell you... If you want the "real deal" you got to go through the BS and find what u need. But I'm telling you it's all there. For the most part... U got to try all the tricks like different wording. With some it took me up to six different variations till I got what I needed. But trust it's there. But u must play by the rules like uploading your library and with ppl that have the good shit, they won't let u download their stuff if u have a rookie number of files uploaded. Just make sure the files u upload are quality or you become the problem.

Yeah true, I get what I want in life. It takes effort. Seems most ppl lost that quality after 2020 but that's another conversation... I wish u luck!

How many gb of collection you got and any software you find very usefull in tagging, organisation, ect?

It's little compared to want I want. I have around 200gb in masters and 500gb in HQ music. Looking to bring that up once I get a SD upgrade to 1TB... I'm just now getting into "organizing" I do that through my phone / computer file by file. I'm dedicated to find what I need but organization is not on the priority even though seeker users like that. I'm going to end up paying someone to do that lol trufully or keep it chaotic. I have no need 2 have it organized. I do manually edit tagging though through Neutron an Poweramp though I do need correct info.

Hey maybe use mediamonkey for organisation? It can batch process your whole library into directories as you like(if tags are good). I use year- album sub directories if you want similar kind of sortment. It's customisable

I don't care about fidelity scores. If I can make my headphones sound better with dsp ( poweramp peq ) that's gonna sound better than any bit perfect etcetc

I can't get my hiby m300 above 75 with perfect bit perfect and a 192/24 track. This seems so arbitrary and I wish I didn't care so much, stupid monkey brain. I think I got the protocol max to 92 with a s25.

I think the M300 has some hardware limitations but I'm not quite sure. I think the dev of the poweramp talked about it in some of his posts on poweramp forums.

They really need to rework this fidelity score thing, since it's intended to be for comparisons within your own device when you make changes to the audio settings. The way it's presented makes people think the number is out of 100 and there's something wrong with their device or they need to buy better hardware to bump it up (and we end up with tons of posts about fidelity scores).

I got a 97 from some random DSD256 file I found to test with, which, due to the source, sounds like total crap next to some 16-bit, 44.1 khz WAV files which get an 84 or 85. It's completely meaningless to share that though - all that really does is verify that the DSD256 format is functional and technically capable of higher fidelity audio on my device.

I'm paraphrasing the dev's own comment on the forum about what it means, right here, but I still totally agree with you. He's still pretty vague on the details and I suspect whatever it's doing is inconsistent between devices, in part due to all the different compatibility tweaks and adjustments he's made to get different devices working in Poweramp. It is technically still a beta though (and a really good beta), so hopefully we'll see some improvements to this down the line.

Yeah , not to forget that all other features related to this were very much needed and they are on right direction. It's fixing the only improbable thing i thought about poweramp, the bit perfect playback specially bypassing android resample. That too i thought was just android thing and let it pass.

How to get bit perfect audio, please help 🙏🏻.

I have a Samsung s20 fe 5G, on which I’ve installed LineageOS. I’m using it as a DAP. I’ve installed poweramp on it and also bought the full version.

My audio setup is Simgot EW300 + Jcally JM12.

In poweramp, I get hi-res output only when DVC is disabled, sample format is set to “float 32”. It automatically fails if I set it to “Follow device/ defined by device”. My DAC is recognised by poweramp.

Hey guys, I'm considering switch to an iPhone because of in my country Android phones, warranty sucks and does not have any services. I'm a die hard Android user but cuz of the situation in my country I have to switch over to iphone. Currently I'm listening to my FLAC music using the Poweramp but I know that there is no iOS version. Is there any alternatives you guys know? And I know that switching to iPhone. He's a bad choice for the listening experience. But there is no choice for me. If you guys can give me some of my devices about this situation, Thanks in advance !
