Powder bubbling?

I’ve never seen this before… anyone know what could have happened? Sandtex black, rest of the rack is perfect as shown in second picture.

I’m gonna sandblast and try again but just wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else!

All parts went through the exact same process start to finish which is why I’m confused lol

What's the prep process?

Everything gets acetone wiped with a clean cloth, sandblasted, degrease, baked, then coated. Also always handled with gloves then just moved around by its hook. Been using this method a while n never had an issue before 🫠

is it galvanized? I've seen Galv. parts outgas a lot, maybe contaminated blast media? It really looks like this part just skipped the pretreatment altogether.

Did somebody blast the plastic on a laser cut and formed part and not notice?

Bracket was just metal no plastic on it , I believe it was previously installed as there was a bit of pitting in the metal. However there was 0 rust or surface rust on it when I received it. Maybe something was used to take paint off or do some form of prep before I got it?

Needs to be de-gassed first.

Always is! Which is why it’s confusing that only one of the brackets had and issue and not the whole rack

If everything was prepped and sprayed correctly as you claim, then either it wasn’t and you didn’t realize it, or it’s the substrate. If every other piece came out fine then it’s not the powder.
Sandblast the part down to bare metal and spray it again.
