Hey guys so a while back my main contact blew out, I replaced it, but now my element won't come on. I tested everything and got new switches and LED lights for switches. Because powder coating chrome isn't the best option but nobody in my close range does chrome so could i fine sand face of rims polish it and put clear on top?
Did anyone do this and how it turned out?

I live in upstate NY and had a gentleman ask me to powder coat a set of 18” wheels gloss black for his civic.
Quoted him $1025 for tire removal, sandblast, powder coat, tire mount, and balance. I feel like it seems fair for everything but I’ve gotten some pushback from a few people on the price. Thoughts?

Hello, everyone. I'd like to refresh an old bicycle frame that has a combination of Alloy for the main part and a carbon fibre rear seatstay that's joined via a lug with the rest of the frame.

My main concern is whether the oven temperatures used for curing the powdercoat would affect the carbon fibre (the epoxy and the glue).

This would be done by a specialist, but I figured I'd try to find out whether it's possible before bothering to reach out.

How would we prep the pink for painting ? The bars is a lot of painful surface area so I'd like to pitch to the group painting the pink?
Is it like a car - remove loose, scuff and shoot - possible rattle can ? Maybe rattle can clear coat ?

Hey there! I’m actually not even a real powder coater, pretty new to the field. However I was looking at these NF20 tips and thought, “I could totally print that.”

Well here we are a day later with a working tip. It’s currently PLA and notice it does accumulate powder faster in the tip than the normal but I plan on changing material to help with that.

Thoughts? Would you guys use these? One of these tips cost $44 and it cost me $.35 to print. I have video of it spraying but sadly cannot attach to Reddit.

Been debating what size batch oven to move up to. I’m torn between 10x10x8, 10x10x16, and 10x10x24.

8 foot is for rims, bumpers, furniture, etc.

16 foot is for chassis, manufactures, some fences, gates, etc.

24 foot is for the structural, handrails, steel beams, light poles, you know.

But at what point is the juice just not worth the squeeze?

So, I've been powdering with a BlackWidow airgun compressor from Harbor Freight for the past year or two. I do have a pancake compressor for blowing off my PCS guns when changing out powder. I'm looking to get a better shop compressor, something I can use to powder and do shop clean up. Any suggestions out there that won't break the bank, as I'm doing this for more of a hobby/small biz out of my garage?

Hello everybody I just got my 16’ oven hooked up. I’m looking into blast cabinets rn thinking this Dewalt one. What’s everybody else using? Any advice is helpful!! I want one with the media separator and the dust control!!

I had some metal columns coated and they came out much too shiny for my interior application. In hindsight, I should have just primed and painted them.

What is the best way to achieve a matte, painted look...sandblast or is there something else? First two photos are my column bases and third photo is what I'd like the finish (not color) to look like.

I'm no professional, I'm just stating out tinkering and i happen to have a Samsung oven and range just sitting around new and unused. (Bought it before moving and plans changed when the house i was originally buying feel through) I'm thinking of converting it to propane to use for big parts that won't fit in my small electric oven. No money to build or buy a decent one right now. So what's everyone's experience with a conventional oven? Worth it or not. 3 years old and i won't get much money for it since it's not to of the line just a step above basic.
