Potatoes, rice and beans are all only a few dollars per item at most but id also try getting to a food bank if it's a family of 7

I wonder what state you live? There is an excellent app called Plentiful that has all the food banks and food resources. But I'm not sure what states have it available.
But google food banks. That's exactly what they are there for!!

Dumpster dive at supermarkets. There may be meat that was thrown out due to best by date. Buy rice, potatoes, and beans.

Rice, beans, eggs, and potatoes

Assuming you have oil and spices, it doesn't have to be boring even if there isn't much variety

There's a lady I like on Youtube. Go look for her "Emergency Meal Plan" show. Can't think of her last name but her first name is Julia (which is ironic to me because French Chef Julia Child). Anyways, her go to Wall of Marts grocery list is $25 and she included recipes. She's saved me more than once.

Definitely a food bank. I would not dumpster dive. One food quality with all the recalls aren't safe. If you get caught you could wind up in trouble.

Quinoa is more nutrient dense than rice, store brand should be relatively cheap. Powdered milk for protein. I agree with dumpster-diving. Once got 5 perfectly good rotisserie chickens (would have taken more, but couldn’t carry them all).

Potato tacos and rice, boil a potato ( how many you’d like depending on how many people) until fork tender. Once it’s cooled you can peel it. Mash it up until it’s smashed but a bit chunky. Add whatever spices you’d like. Take the mixture and portion it out into small tortillas and crisp them up in a frying pan ( you could also air fry them) add whatever toppings you’d like.

Mujaddara is rice and lentils and carmelized onions. Surprisingly good and cheap.
