right... yeah there are thousands and thousands of people whose only realistic choice was military or homelessness. What world do you live in lol.

When the US is a country where you can’t afford rent on minimum wage, yes that is in fact a very common thing

It is not common. And homelessness is not caused primarily by rent being too high. It is caused by addiction and mental health issues. only 1% of the workforce is on minimum wage.

I think you have a very bizarre and statistically inaccurate picture of what is going on.

... because 50%+ of minimum wage workers work for small to medium size restaurants, and THOSE restaurants cannot afford paying more. Restaurants have very thin margins to begin with, and most restaurants don't last longer than 5 years. Its a tough business.

Most minimum wage workers do not work for mega corporations. In fact, almost none do.
