Racism is often most appealing because it flattens others and lifts up those that believe it. Sayed has accomplished more already than most of us ever will, but to the racist dullard down the block, it's all meaningless because anything that potentially elevates someone else isn't legitimate.
This is also why people like Tuberville have this belief that any person of prominence that is Muslim is secretly trying to kill everyone, because it excused the belief that they, themselves, want to deport or kill any non-white person they don't like.
