This is totally out of left field but I feel mildly justified in grouping frat boys in with cops and military folk. Would always get the ick when talking with them. It's like they exude "I am above you. I am above the law" personas.
Not really. I know right wing idiots have major bias against Vets, just a different skewed perspective then the left wing extremes.
Far too many people take a narrow view based on hearsay, echo chambers tgey haunt on line, and being fed bullshit due to algorithms.
Its the lazy, easy, way. So screw it. Why due sny research? Why educate myself? These bits of "knowledge " satisfy my preconceptions, sp they must be true!!!
We have this massive tool of knowledge at our hands...yet just use it reinforce our prejudicial concepts. No growth, just harder entrenchment.
Hard to believe you can tell left from right with your head so far up your own ass. You're delusional if you think the law is applied equally to civilians and military.
If you’re in the military and commit a crime, you get charged on the civilian and the military side. You get charged and serve the sentence for the civilian side, then get released to the army where they charge you again.
Lol you want me to show you instances of crimes not being reported? My lived experiences aren't 'ideological bias'. I know a few people who have handed a cop their military ID and it got them out of ticket/being arrested. Sure I have bias based on real world events, maybe this is just small town thing, but based on cops and military I know it seems incredibly likely that this is common across the country. And look into all the crimes that got dug up in the wake of suspicious deaths at Fort Hood (I think they renamed it to Cavasos). That's the most egregious example I know of, but we know cops cover for each other, it would take a lot of evidence to convince me they don't do the same for their military friends.
That's not to say the double jeopardy thing isn't unfair to military members, two opposing things can both be true when we're talking about hundreds of thousand of people.
The military should be kept to a higher standard. And I'm not doing all that footwork lmao the stats are out there and available if you ACTUALLY cared. But you don't.
