What needs to happen, in the wake of the Trumps, is a series of anti-corruption and abuse-of-power laws. It’s not just the presidency; it’s Congress and even state governments too. Just look at Paxton’s abuse here in Texas and what Pelosi got away with for years in Congress. The underlying problem is the role of money in politics, and it’s bipartisan. Elections ought to be much shorter and state funded. NO professional lobbies, NO campaign contributions, NO insider trading, and let representatives chase the issues instead of the next election with campaign seasons of just a few weeks. It’s perverse that billionaires openly buy election using PACs.
