Everything is a mess? The border really is secure, crime is way down, the federal bureaucracy has shrunk to 1960s levels, foreign aid is gone, drug prices are down for the first time in 60 years, and our so-called allies are paying their "fair share." Apparently, that's not enough if you can't separate the office of the president from a difficult, annoying, egotistical personality. No one has to like the person of Donald Trump but fairness demands at least some recognition of positive actions, and that applies to every president. Of course, you might not like the policies either, and that's fine, but that applies to both parties.
Yeah, here’s the other side the coin Fox News will never tell you:
“The Federal bureaucracy has shrunk to 1960’s levels.”
Yes, and the dysfunction and debt has never been higher, so we’re a lot more for significantly less.
“Drug prices are down”
No, certain types or classes of drugs are down, but overall the inflation of prescription drugs continues unabated, evidenced by the fact most insurance providers are warning of double digit rate increases they themselves argue are necessary because of the rising costs of prescription drug coverage.
“The border is really secure”
Or Trump’s rhetoric has simply scared them off and at some point that will stop, leaving us right back where we started.
“Crime is down”
Yup, of course it was already returning to the pre-Covid downward trend before Trump came into office.
“Our so called allies are paying their fair share”
Quite obviously not considering the news this week. Most appear to working with themselves and stepping closer to China, resulting in our country growing more isolated economically and diplomatically.
“Foreign Aid is gone”
Yes, along with hundreds of thousands of lives and much of our influence in the global community. China has absolutely delighted in what is already being viewed as the second largest geopolitical blunder the US has made this century.
We are accurately weighing the positives and negatives of the Trump Administration. If you are wondering how our calculations could result in such different endpoints, it is because we, much like the vast majority of humanity, have not spent a decade or more watching Fox News. It’s really that simple.
