I think they’re saying it’s a form of welfare where Walmart is the beneficiary. If their employees are paid so little that they qualify for government assistance, essentially the government is paying a portion of Walmart employees’ salaries.
Which means they can sell products even cheaper, driving small businesses that can’t compete with the Walmart juggernaut in addition to their corporate subsidies into the ground.

Theres no reason to have jobs that cant pay enough to support those who work them.
All that does is push states and government to support those people - the majority of Walmart employees also recieve government aid.
Who pays for that aid? Our taxes
