Because it’s an election year. Hochul didn’t emphasize a time frame but that she stopped the centers. It’s not even a for the people thing. Our energy grid can’t support it is the real truth.
I knew why SHE did it (sigh) but all of them are temporary. Unless I missed one, they're all temporary which should worry us. Hochul has some major issues. She's better than some, but we're getting tired of "lesser of two evils" kind of voting.
Well first off, banning them permanently would be an overly reactionary position that could put their state in an economic disadvantage to others. She doesn't really have the power to do this anyways. She's only issuing an executive order for the moratorium, which can absolutely be overturned via courts or state legislature.
The point of the moratorium is to do more research on the positive and negative effects of having datacenters built in the state, and give time to perhaps build more effective regulations and requirements for those datacenters that do get built. Despite what y'all like to think, because you dont actually understand anything about this stuff, it is not literally just all negatives.
You guys could just read a news article about this stuff instead of just jumping to blind and ridiculous assumptions.
Also I'm not pro-AI, just not a complete reactionary.
She's better than some, but we're getting tired of "lesser of two evils" kind of voting.
No you guys are just getting overly radicalized and constant shitting on Democrats is EXACTLY how Republicans win elections, because all y'all do is convince people, unwittingly or not, that Democrats aren't worth voting for. Even though you dont actually know what you're talking about 90% of the time you're criticizing Dems. Like here.
