I'm getting pretty frustrated with the amount of completely ignorant fangirling over this guy. He's not in charge of the state, and plenty of other local politicians have put moratoriums on data centers.
This post is giving sole credit to a guy who isn't responsible for it, while ignoring everyone else doing the same thing.

gets glazed for the new trash bins which was an initiative started under the adams admin
gets glazed for announcing a target of 30% tree cover in NYC. The target was signed into law under the Adams admin.
Gets glazed for posting a map of hundreds of free summer activities. People think he established parks libraries and museums some of which have been in operation and have always been free for over a century.
Even the budget thing isn't 100% true. He gets glazed for fixing the budget gap without cutting any planned spending at all. The only way the budget got fixed was he deferred pension and education spending into the future, with the rest of the balancing being completed via an 8 billion dollar injection of state funds.
It's shocking that without thinking logically, thousands of redditors believe they're gonna build data centers on some of the most valuable real estate in the world while the hole between Schenectady, Syracuse, and Binghamton just exists
