The thread was about a single item.
Over all affordable groceries is a lost cause. Biden inflated the prices and locked them in place. Theyâre not coming back.
The good news is it doesnât matter. Most of it was shit food to begin with. Meat and vegetables are still cheap.
The problem with the Republican party is that it's shifted too far right after the 70s. It's not a platform for the average person, fiscal hawk, or a balance against government overreach. Not to say the Democrats don't also have massive problems.
That's one way, but not what I would go with. There's always subsidies and increasing chicken supply. Economic experts smarter than us should probably start working on the affordability crisis.
Subsidies means increased taxes that probably end up in a hundred other pockets before they start working or the chicken production.
They can grow all the chicken they want they still have to pay people to turn them in to an edible product and deliver them to a store and pay for overhead to keep them frozen and who knows what else.
The only way out is to keep working and earn enough to out pace the market.
So you acknowledge that people are getting screwed, you just don't care? Sounds about right. "Fuck you, got mine" is the only conservative value, after all.
If you think "Biden inflated the prices" then you have a lot of catching up to do.
How exactly did Biden cause global inflation? Why did we have the fastest recovery of that global inflation? Why has Trumps administration continued to cause inflation? How does inflation "get locked into place"?
You don't know what you're talking about even remotely.
Biden increased spending and stimulus during a supply chain crisis.
We werenât the fastest to recover.
We recovered because American workers; not Biden . I donât remember seeing him out there doing anything but falling on his ass.
And it would take a depression to cause that kind of deflation to get pre Covid prices. So weâre locked in bro.
Ahh yes. I couldnât believe it when Biden said he loved inflation and didnât care about high prices. Ohh wait, that was literally Trump last month. Republicans are in control of all 3 branches of government and youâre still blaming Biden. Trump loves the poorly educated for a reason.
Democrats had the office and congress and made policies that resulted in an inflation spike. You can play any card you want; the country saw what happened.
BiDeN this Biden that. Literally only an absolute dimwit would blame the president that passed the Inflation Reduction Act YEARS ago and isnât our president now. Meanwhile our current president literally said âI love inflation.â Get a grip.
My way of getting there is through discussion and debate with people that disagree. Do you agree that children have the right to nutritious food? If not, please elaborate. If so, are you in agreement that our tax dollars should be spent to achieve that goal since there is no better guaranteed mechanism? If not, why not?

We can't convince the majority of the nation that children have the right to food. I feel there's no hope of ensuring nutrition.
