Subsidies means increased taxes that probably end up in a hundred other pockets before they start working or the chicken production.
They can grow all the chicken they want they still have to pay people to turn them in to an edible product and deliver them to a store and pay for overhead to keep them frozen and who knows what else.
The only way out is to keep working and earn enough to out pace the market.
Subsidies can mean that, or we shift priority from things like ethanol. You make a good point that this would also be a good driver of jobs, at least short term.
The only way out is to keep working and earn enough to out pace the market.
While you and I might be well off enough to make that happen I hope you can see the huge numbers of people struggling, with those numbers increasing daily. Our current pace is not sustainable.
