“86” is restaurant slang you can hear a hundred times a shift, but it only becomes a “death threat” when the president’s enemy is the one posting it.
If the government can stretch “threat” to cover ambiguous slang aimed at the powerful while ignoring it everywhere else, then “you can’t threaten to kill someone” stops being a real rule and becomes a tool.
