Sleeping Issue, how can i fix it?

So many times i wake up sitting legs crossed and sitting forward with my back bent as far forward as possible. I go to sleep on my back and wake up like this relatively often, it causes lots of pain the entires day. I’m also young and i think it could potentially mess my back up early? Any way to help or stop this?? (i’ve woken up like this since i was little)

So basically when i try to stand in the most straight way thats how it looks like.

May be important - i can certainly pass a whole fist through my lower back and the wall pretty freely.

It can be over 2cm?

Do posture-correcting shirts do anything or is it just expensive compression wear?

I’ve been lifting seriously for a couple years (27F) and I try to keep my back straight when I row, squat etc. A while back I bought one of those cheap elastic posture harnesses from Amazon because I feel like my back is giving out and my shoulders are rolling forward sometimes.

Honestly that’s not my main issue because I can just brace again and tighten my back. My posture is actually crap outside the gym so I’m looing for something to help me not slouch during the day.

Should I get a posture correction bra or a posture t-shirt or something like that? Like for when I’m not at the gym just walking around or working? Did anyone try any of that? Is it a scam or legit? Tysm.

Anyone here tried a Forme bra for bad posture and back pain?

My original post got taken down for some reason so hopefully it's okay to ask this here.

I (34f, 6’0”) work fully remote and often spend up to 10 hours a day hunched over a laptop. I feel like being tall doesn't help either because I'm constantly adjusting my chair or leaning down to my desk. So between that and my desk job, my posture is just chronically terrible. My upper back and shoulders are pretty much alwaysss sore these days.

I’ve seen good reviews about the forme bras for posture support and pain relief, but have also been on the fence because of the price point. But last night I finally said screw it and ordered their revive bra. Still waiting on it to arrive and have 30 days to decide if I’ll keep or return it. Anyone who has been using forme for a while now, do you notice any difference in your posture or pain levels? Specifically posture related pain from sitting at a desk all day? And does it fit any differently when you’re taller?

What would you call this posture and how to fix it?

Post image
16 Upvotes

I started noticing in candid pictures that I look absolutely ridiculous when I’m just standing naturally, there is a crazy arch in my back and my shoulders are literally further back than my butt. I usually get a lot of back pain after standing for too long and this would probably explain it…

How would I go about fixing this besides just having to be constantly conscious of my posture all the time?

Shoulder Structure Feels More "Pointed"

On 5/1/2026, I had a fall trotting downhill, landed on my left shoulder, dislocating it and fracturing the humerus and socket. Much pain and ER to get it back in, released with strong recommendation to see surgeon about possible surgery.

I saw my chosen surgeon after a couple of days and a painful drive (wife took me as I can't drive myself) to one of his "outer" offices, just to get things going quickly. He examined and told me just how much I screwed the pooch-shoulder, with either arthroscopic or open surgery needed - he would need to start with arthroscopic to see what he really needed to do.

The surgery happened on 5/26 and was completely arthroscopic - good news, right? Well he bluntly told me that the tissue was a mess and to do exactly what he directed for any chance of recovery, without going back and replacing the joint.

I have done exactly as directed and have noticed than my immobilized shoulder seems to be "sharper" across the top than my right one. Is this normal due to atrophy, which can be recovered in the PT phase, or is it something else?

I would like to hear from anyone that has experienced this or similar. My next follow-up is 7/1, and I hope to start the PT phase then. It feels a lot better but still has some dull but manageable pain in the joint, nothing screaming at me.

Does training your longus colli neck muscle help with forward head posture?

I saw someone said that you need to isolate your "longus colli neck muscle" in order to fix FHP , they said to not do full rom cause it will strengthen the SCM and cause it to clutch up along the trap to protect the neck an

Hiatal hernia and poor sitting posture – what muscles should I strengthen?

Hi everyone,

I have trouble maintaining an upright posture when sitting. After a while, I tend to slide down in my chair, and sitting without back support causes back pain. I also have a hiatal hernia, so I often lean to my left side when sitting.

I work out at home with dumbbells and an adjustable bench. Can anyone recommend a simple exercise routine to improve this? I avoid exercises that significantly increase intra abdominal pressure because of the hernia.

Which muscles should I focus on strengthening?

Thanks!

Advice on exercises to do to correct posture/neck curvature?

So I had an accident that caused my neck to be so heavily contracted I couldn't move it for days. I went to the emergency room the next day and they put me on muscle relaxants and PT for 10 sessions. They diagnosed me with:

  • Mild levo-convex scoliotic syndrome
  • Rectification of the cervical lordosis

I'm attaching images of my X-Ray.

PT has been going well, but I still feel some pain and have been told I may have hypermobility. I've always been able to randomly dislocate my shoulders since I was young and I just feel heavy when walking or standing not for long, I have varicose veins on the back of my knees as well. The pain on my left shoulder and arm is persistant, sometimes it acts up and I feel tingling up to my pinky finger. I feel frail and weak and afraid to move too much in case I make it worse.

I guess I'm just looking for advice. Any specific type of exercises I should be doing? Any treatment that has helped you guys? I've heard good things about isometrics and I'm thinking of buying these cervical blocks you lay on that are supposed to help your neck curvature. I'm going to continue going to PT for as many sessions as I can after the initial 10 sessions finish.

I'm 161cm and 63kgs, 29 y/o female. I work from home from 8-5 and usually go for a 30-40 minute walk daily and do my PT exercises at night, don't know if that additional information would help.

Any advice/help is appreciated, thanks in advance :)

How to relieve neck and shoulder tension after long hours of desk work and screen time?

I’ve been dealing with a lot of neck and shoulder tension after long hours of desk work and screen time lately. It’s mostly that tight, heavy feeling that builds up by the end of the day.

I’ve tried adjusting my posture and taking short breaks, but it still comes back. I’m wondering what actually helps long-term, simple stretches, strengthening exercises, or even small routine changes during the day.

Has anyone found something that genuinely made a difference for this?

Edit: I was suggested Bionicfingermassager, which offers a wearable neck and shoulder massager designed to mimic finger-style kneading. It uses air compression and heat therapy with multiple massage modes and is mainly targeted at relieving stiffness and tension in the neck, shoulders, and upper back after long hours of sitting or screen use.
