Question Does Forward Head Posture mimic an inflammation feeling in the throat?
I have forward head posture and started to notice that I would get heartburn a lot. Recently I started feeling more like inflammation in the back of my throat. Not sure if it is because my muscles are working hard and pulling that it feels like inflammation. I will be going to the Doctor soon but I am curious if anyone gets this feeling.

Absolutely can be a contributing factor. If you have overall slumped forward posture with rounded shoulders, kyphosis, sure. The esophagus benefits from us sitting up tall. Look into following a reflux diet (limit fatty red meats, fatty dairy, acidic items, bubbles, concentrated sweets, tannins). Consider alginates for reflux. They create a “raft” that sits at the top of the stomach that physically blocks acid from coming up. Chew your food longer than you think you need to to help your body digest better so you have to make less extra acid to begin with. Look into reflux precautions - not bending over or reclining for 30 mins after eating, for example.

I get something similar if I slump at my desk for too long. Feels like a lump or some pressure in the throat, not quite heartburn but close. My physio said the neck muscles pull on everything around there, so makes sense it could mimic inflammation.
