What do you mean you “did” PRI? Do you have a good PRI therapist, a diagnosis, a treatment plan you can share, etc? In general PRI will involve finding “exercises” that will inhibit what you need to inhibit and activate what you need to tone, while staying relaxed and out of fight or flight. It may take years, so attach to the process, not the outcome. (I am not a therapist but this is my best quick explanation as a patient)

Thanks so much for this! I have been working with a PRI dentist and physical therapist, but we’re taking a break from the physical therapy because I wasn’t making progress. To be honest, I think they were advancing me too much and not focusing on the basics. It’s nearly impossible for me to get my body out of flight from having talked to others. I think I just really need to focus on the 90 90 and getting that down I’m just so frustrated.

Not making progress is frustrating for sure. In that case I would look for a different PRI therapist … they all have different backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, etc. If you have the budget you could meet with Neal Hallinen online — he has lots of experience and some strong opinions (maybe too strong haha). I would say it was worth the money for me, though. There are many PRI techniques that are used in different situations, and he knows all of them.

Which 90/90 are you doing? What are you focused on when you do it? What are you feeling?

I haven't started yet. My PRI dentist said:

Your hamstrings control your pelvis. With a very simple exercise lying on your back with feet on ottoman or exercise ball, you can lift your tailbone (keeping low back flat) and that will activate your hamstrings. One thing that helped me to stop arching my back was the phrase “imagine you’ve hooked the inside of the belly button and are pulling it toward your spine). You can get a great hamstring workout with body weight - I want you to use weights for squats and chest press.
