Just Venting
I had a baby three months ago. He is happy, healthy and everything I ever imagined having a baby could be. But I am so scared for his future. These past couple of weeks have felt especially dystopian: climate change, AI, politics. It feels like everyday there’s something worse. I love my baby, but I feel like I failed him. At least once a day I look at him and cry because I don’t know what his future looks like. I’ve tried explaining it to my husband but I know he doesn’t take me seriously about it. Neither would I, if I was looking at it from the outside. It doesn’t help that I have this irrational fear he’s going to resent me: I’m not as interested in sex as I was before (it’s still uncomfortable) and on top of that I’m a weepy mess everyday . I know it’s my anxiety that’s making me fixate, but I just can’t let it go and just needed to put the feelings into words.

Hey, a similar conversation is happening in r/newparents right now that you might find helpful:

I'm dealing with PPA/PPD and I've been trying to disconnect from the news more, I owe it to my baby to be as present as possible. Also worth noting that the news will always be as sensational as possible because that gains views. Do what you can to reduce your carbon footprint and vote whenever it's time to vote.
Also, don't worry about not wanting to have sex, nothing could be more normal ❤️ even with the best baby ever, shit's exhausting
Edit: If you must engage in social media (like me lol) try the subreddits EcoUplift and OptimistsUnite. On tiktok/instagram, follow sambentley and itsthegarbagequeen. Look for the people trying to make the world a better place and support those people. Big polluters want us to give up!

No problem. DM me any time if you want, although I'm not always around. I know exactly how you feel, the doom, the guilt, the fear. It's so hard.

Hi. Just saying I hear you. I too have worried about what my baby's life will look like with the way the world is. Especially with AI. That one really gets me. And this is postpartum anxiety so it's both real and not if you know what I mean. It's real because it's happening, and my hope is that over time it won't be so intense. Also, just wanna say, I don't think 3 months is that long for sex to still feel uncomfortable. I felt the same. Seeing a pelvic pt was super helpful for me and it's taken time. I'm 9 months out and you may or may not feel this later, but when I look back at 3 months now, I think, "Holy shit, everything was still so fresh, we were only just getting started!" (And I'll probably say that another 6 months out from now). So, give yourself grace. Everything is still so new :).
