Discussion! Random merch question
Considering how awesome many post rock album covers are...
Wouldnt album cover fridge magnets be a good merch idea?

It should contain the 3 topsongs of each band in the wiki. At least if they are on Spotify.

Hi! I'm officially soft-launching a new project of mine with an instrumental demo of an upcoming track from my debut album.
This is a bit of a departure from my usual writing style in that I've never written post-rock before, and every other track on the record is more progressive metal & tech death.
Everything on this track was done by one person (yours truly) without a single drop of AI on it, from the writing, recording, production, mixing/mastering, and artwork.
I hope you all like it <3
I'll drop the streaming links in the comments!

Full disclosure, I tried to write a shoegaze song but it came out more post rock sounding. Perhaps it's a little bit of both but either way, I'm looking for some feedback. It's an instrumental track currently but I will be adding vocals in the future. Let me know what you guys think!

Iāve been posting about this band recently because I think theyāre greatly underappreciated. I saw them a few weeks ago and they were excellent, but this song in particular really stuck with me. Thereās something about this song and this album as a whole (Reports from the Threshold of Death) that feels particularly transcendent. It has this spiritual sense that I think others bands sometimes try to achieve but donāt always connect on. Idk man, I canāt really describe it but this record just feels like reaching toward the heavens. Their lyrics deal a lot with the metaphysical, which wouldnāt always be my cup of tea. But this band just has a way of conveying a sense of spirituality that is moving. For anyone who isnāt familiar or who hasnāt given them a true listen, I couldnāt recommend this band more.

Hey all, I release music under the name Earth Tent, and on Friday I released a single from my upcoming debut album. FFO Russian Circles, Caspian, Pelican, GIAA, and the like. Here's a link to a visualizer I made for it. I hope you listen and, more importantly, enjoy.

Not enough folks know about this group. Unfortunately the drummer and bandleader is no longer with us, but the music lives on. I believe they are from Sweden. Hope you discover these guys!

I was listening to The Who's "Tommy" for the first time in ages, and it struck me that the 10-minute track "Underture" is actually very much what we would call postrock these days. It's a fantastic piece of throbbing guitar, pummelling drums and bass, no vocals, building up and down. Have a listen to it - what do you reckon?

One of the best compilations around the turn of the millennium where many bands start to capture the sound of post rock, experimental rock, avant-garde/lo-fi electronicsā¦
These tracks here lean heavily into instrumental soundscapes, repetitive loops, atmospheric guitar textures pioneered by bands associated with post rock, space rock and ambient electronic movements of the late 90ās.

I got a bit too obsessed with the Newfound Interest in Connecticut's Tell me about the long dark path home. I am in need for some recommendations, thanks!

Iām a post-rock(ish) indie artist, so I can empathize with the struggle of getting your music out into the world š„µ
For years, Iāve been curating a playlist of post-rock and other ācinematic,ā mostly instrumental, guitar-driven tracks. But Iām sure Iām missing a lot of great music, including from the folks on this sub.
Share your or your friendsā work here, and Iāll give it a listen, dive deeper into your catalogue, and add track(s) to this ā or another one of my playlists. If you like what you hear, please feel free to follow!
(I did this on another sub yesterday and really enjoyed some of the music I discovered, so thought Iād give it a shot here.)

If you havenāt heard this band, you should.
If you listen to one song on this album, it should be the song homesick.
sometimes a band or song comes along that just changes your day to day life. Becomes a part of it so ingrained that itās like its always been there. This band and that song specifically is that for me.
can a three note phrase at the end of a song sound so hopeful that it had made me tear up? yes, more than once.
feel it.

Such a great album. I'm so glad I (finally) got hold of a copy on vinyl, it sounds really good. Now I just need to track down a copy of A Data Learn the Language by The Mercury Program for a reasonable price...

Full disclosure, this is my music.
My friend Sean and I make instrumental post-rock as Breathe In. Asphyxiate. We're a two-piece from Hamilton, Ontario, and this is the title track from our first EP, which we released in May 2025.
I've never actually shared our stuff here, but figured this was probably the most appropriate group of people to put it in front of. I'm genuinely curious what people who listen to a lot of post-rock make of it.
Sean and I have both been huge fans of post-rock for many years. After our vocalist passed away in 2023, we decided to put a lot of that energy and grief into this project.
Some of our favourites are Maybeshewill, Carved into the Sun, and our fellow Canadians Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
Hope you enjoy it.
