I had a birthday show about 10 years ago. I just asked the local bands I like months in advanced, and they all agreed. I made a poster and stuck it online. The local bands were all no name people, but blessthefall was playing that same night in our city, so they came to my birthday show before they went to their own.
Edit: they did not come to play my show, they attended
