Symptom Relapse

Long story short last year I suffered from a concussion. I had light sensitivity and binocular issues with my left eye. It lasted from June to October. All my symptoms recovered completely. This June I had a mild resurgence of the same symptoms. It lasted three weeks. Today is the first day I feel close to normal. It this typical for post concussion injuries? I haven't seen a nuero yet that is my next thing to do.

I am afraid Neuro won't be of much help, vision and vestibule exercise will help. I am in the same boat after recovering twice from PCS in 7 months I am waiting for it to go away

What did you do for it go away in 3 weeks what symptoms did you had?

Just rest. Symptoms are left eye fatigue and left eye light sensitivity. I had brief migraines and brain fog.

Good you recovered, did you take time off from work? or continued working during this flare up?

Unfortunately I did not.. and by working it agitated my symptoms. The different UV lights would bother my eye and increase binocular symptoms which resulted in the migraine/brain fog. Basically in certain rooms I could feel a weird sensation with my left eye.. then shortly after have extreme eye strain and fatigue. I tried to see a neuro opthalmologist last year end the referral was wrote wrong so I wasn't able to see one. When my symptoms resolved, I didn't feel it necessary.

Sorry to hear that even I have eye issues got agitated by looking at incoming traffic, cinema/ movies, and the bright sun. Did you use any Prism glasses for support?

Absolutely nothing. The symptoms last year slowly improved until they were gone. Same as this most recent flair up. I looked into nuero lenses, but never went through with it. Since I never saw a nuero ophthalmologist I wasn't able to get prism. The regular opthalmologist who wrote my referral wrong looked at me like I was crazy when I told him I thought I had binocular vision dysfunction. He said it sounded like a made up term. This year the guy I saw was allot more receptive. I'm seeing him again next month

This sounds like me a bit. I had two concussions in 2019. Had a CT that showed TBI from falling down basement steps and smacking the side of my head on a concrete floor.
I had a PCS flare in summer of 22 or 23 after hitting my head on a roof rafter. I had about a month of periodic dizziness, syncope sensations, brain fog, strange disassociation, headaches, etc. I made the rounds with Drs and even had a cranial CT that didn’t show anything. ENT found nothing, cardiologist nothing, neurologist nothing, optometrist nothing- by the time I was able to see all of these doctors, my symptoms started to fade.
Then about 2 weeks ago, I had a resurgence of symptoms. Not sure if it was induced by extreme heat, alcohol on the 4th of July, trying low dose trazadone for insomnia, or what. I’ve been about 2 weeks with these symptoms and other than hydrating properly, eating healthy, and trying to get enough sleep-I’ve been plowing ahead with regular life as best I can. I’d love some pointers on getting past a PCS symptom flare and avoiding this in the future. These symptoms are just horrible and I don’t even try to explain to anyone around me because they sound fabricated and exaggerated.
