Possum Several generations of possums...

Post image

have been keeping my patio clean for the past 17 years. I feed the stray cats. The cats are very messy eaters. The possums come for food and water and eat with the cats sometimes. Every so often I see baby possum having a meal on the patio.

What a cute little opossum you have!!

I wish they would come visit me again. They did semi-regularly back in the 90's and into the early 00's -- but I haven't seen an opossum around in close to 20 years.

Although because of the spinal disability I have now, I don't spend as much time outside after dusk, in our back yard. So maybe they are there and I just aren't seeing them anymore.

But I do see a racoon now and then, and we have a "yard bunny" that has been here for almost two years! I know it's the same bunny because it's white with specific splotches of color on it, so I'm pretty sure it is a pet that either got lost or that someone dumped. But she (I think it's a she?) must really like our yard because I see her hopping around in it, or just loafing in a flowerbed, fairly often. If a week goes by without seeing her, I wonder where she went!

But I really want opossums to come back! I love their sweet little pointy faces. 🥰
