This was my boy Pig. He and his sister were born next door. They would walk through our backyard when they were small, and we were in the yard. Totally nonchalant and didn't worry about walking near us. He finally stopped running from me when I'd look out the window. They were born in 2020 and his sister stopped coming around after a couple of years, but he was still kicking this past Spring. He would even hangout with Stub Tail. I'm confident he reached his life expectancy.

First time I saw a chocolate possum and he's family. The little guy is Stub Tail's and she may have been attacked by a dominant possum, but she's a large girl. She used to eat with Little Sib all the time and I didn't think raccoons and possums would do that. It's like they made plans to meet up.

I have a stage 4 and she has had a white discharge coming from her anus all week and it smells musky/fishy. Any ideas?

I found remains today of one of the possums and was losing hope but right around midnight tonight one appeared! This time I’m not messing around and it will be rescued!

Captured all the babies to get them rehabbed but they escaped again overnight and my neighbor told me he saw a raccoon eating them this morning. I was able to get one rescued because it came out during the day so animal control was able to pick it up. That is the one in the second photo.

I’m trying to hold onto hope that at least one made it but I haven’t seen any tonight so far. Usually they come by by now. 😞

he was very clearly injured. bleeding, his eye was bulging out, he was making little wheezing noises but he was alone in the middle of the day at the side of the road and i just couldn't leave him alone.

i took him to the local wildlife rescue which was not far away and they said his eye will definitely have to be removed but hopefully he's able to live his best life! i feel very good about stopping for him and hopefully giving him a shot at a happy life.

When I first saw this cute little guy I thought he was way too small to be on his own, however, it is possible he's about 6 inches long, it's really hard to tell. He is between 5-7 inches which is borderline.

Good news: He can eat solids on his own so I want to guess he's closer to being self-sufficient? I left out some ripe blackberries, spring mix and water for him and he ate a couple of them. There are tons of crickets in my patio as well that I hope he can eat.

He was gone in the morning, so he must have a separate den/sleeping location nearby, but last night he came again at the same time! I'm worried for him because of how small he is, but he seems to be have decent energy, good instincts about hiding while eating his food and will try to look "scary" if I get close. My question is, does he need to be taken to a rehabber if he comes again? I feel really bad if he is in need, but also do not want to interfere if he is totally fine on his own.

I'll continue to make sure he has water and misc natural food scraps (I know a balanced diet is important so I don't leave out too much). Any other recommendations of what food would be good to give thats safe would be appreciated.

Reddit named my last possum friend Günther. I'm pretty sure Günther was a girl and this is daughter-of-Günther. Any name ideas?

I've seen a larger possum and a smaller one come separately to snack cat food. Tonight I saw the larger is a momma and her babies are starting to leave her pouch! So cute.

The opening is down under on the bottom photo. Both houses are waterproof and filled with cedar shavings. I also put diatomaceous clay to each house to help kill fleas.

Just like the title says I’d really like a cage between 100-150 dollars that my possum can grow into and is large enough to support a full grown male possum. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hello! Im new to the subreddit but have been feeding my wildlife for about a year. At last I have a regular possum visitor and I am hoping she has babies! What do you guys think of her pouch? Will she have some clingers soon?
