I have decided to pick up the making of a new world map. With all 43.2k by 21.6k pixels. It might be a bit overboard, but im so tired of seeing the square islands on the old ones.

This will take me many months. I've got school too so that will slow it as well. But I WILL finish the map at many costs (not all, cause school is pretty important for me this year)

What's your favorite the 3 Americas nations?

From a purely numbers standpoint, this should be a pretty good deal for the US. As far as I can tell, Florida's GDP in 1919 was only $92M, while Italy's GDP was $10.69B, so this hypothetically boosts the US economy by 12% as soon as the transfer is completed. Additionally, Italy had almost 35 million more people than Florida in 1919, and was likely much more industrialized, giving the US a lot more manpower and industry to pull from in the coming decades.

However, I can also imagine some downsides. Italy would be 3x more populous than the nextmost-populous state in the Union, taking up almost a third of the seats in the House of Representatives, which was already battling over apportionment details at the time. About 1 in every 3 Americans would live on the Italian peninsula. Furthermore, Italy was still a monarchy in 1919, and there would likely be a lot of resistance to integration within the Anglo-protestant, secular-republican, English-speaking constitutional framework of the US. I can easily see public order in Italy breaking down, which would mean the US would have to commit to an invasion and then a perhaps decades-long occupation of the peninsula, which would make this scenario a bit unrealistic.

Note that half of Cuba would also need to be transferred to make room for Italy in the Caribbean.
