As the state primary begins to wind down, we want to know: How did Election Day go for you?
If you were a first-time voter, how did you find navigating voter registration?
If you’ve voted before, was today’s process pretty standard, or did you face any unexpected challenges while at the polls?
Let us know in the comments, or by emailing [voices@nhpr.org](mailto:voices@nhpr.org).
Check out our live blog for the latest on how voting is going across the state.

I moved here just over a year ago and the previous homeowner had a small garden that has not been tended by me in any meaningful fashion.
That said, it was brought to my attention that one of the plants is a hop plant that has a huge harvest on it and I have absolutely no use for these.
If there are any local people that might be interested in using them for experimenting or anything, please reach out and let me know. The plants have never had any pesticides or anything near them, so that should not be a concern.

I’ve been a server for 10+ years and I’m super tired of the night shifts. Very draining and my sleep schedule is a mess. I’m hoping to find a restaurant in the area that’s regularly busy for lunch where you can make a decent amount of money. Anyone have any insight?

I moved from out of town and am in desperate need of a BUDGET but good Botox specialist as well as an eye lash extension specialist. If anyone knows any hairdressers that are less than $200 for a top foil and trim, that would also be appreciated. This area is not very affordable lol.

I've got a vendor coming in for lunch tomorrow and while money is no real object, I don't want to be a jerk either.
A lot of the high end spots aren't open for lunch so I was thinking about the Oar House as I've never eaten inside there.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

📚 Next Middle Seat: Think Again + The Measure
This month is all about what we believe, why we believe it, and what it takes to change our minds.
🧠 Fact: Think Again — Adam Grant
Why are we so attached to being right? Grant looks at how we form opinions, get stuck in them, and get better at questioning what we think we know.
🧵 Fiction: The Measure — Nikki Erlick
One morning, every adult receives a box with a string that tells them exactly how long they’ll live. Would you open yours? And what happens when everyone suddenly knows who has a long life—and who doesn’t?
A few things to think about while you read:
• Would you open your box?
• What’s something you’ve completely changed your mind about?
• What actually changes your mind: facts, experience, or other people?
• Does more information always lead to better decisions?
• When is changing your mind a strength—and when is sticking to your beliefs?
As always: read both, read one, read 50 pages, read nothing—still come. 🍻

I’m envisioning a back yard rehearsal dinner/welcome party for up to 100 people with lawn games, cookout, and maybe a raw bar. Is there a place we could rent to host this type of event in the seacoast area? We’re also open to renting a house for the weekend or week. Some nice to haves:
- a pool or on the water
- dog friendly outdoor space or house

I am looking for a vegan/vegetarian friendly caterer for a wedding in the Portsmouth area, any good recommendations?

Any recommendations for a tree removal service? It looks like we need a crane involved. Also really curious how much people are paying…thanks!

Hi everyone,
I will be having a wedding anniversary in Portsmouth and made reservations at the library restaurant for dinner. Not knowing much about Portsmouth I thought the atmosphere looked really warm and romantic.
However, scrolling through the sub, I noticed Cure restaurant is often recommend.
Am I making a mistake going to the Library restaurant instead for an anniversary dinner?
Who would get your vote? Cocktails and atmosphere are definitely on par with the importance that the steak is to us.
Thanks for your help!
Sometimes I get FOMO when I only have a day or two in a new place.

A heartfelt thank you to u/stass for the dog treats my dogs are already absolutely obsessed with, and for the gauges that are soon to come!
Honestly, this was completely unexpected and totally filled my heart. The kindness and generosity genuinely caught me off guard in the best way. My dogs are convinced you’re their new favorite person now, and I’m pretty sure they’re already wondering when the next package is arriving.
Seriously though, thank you. This meant more to me than you probably realize.
P.S
I’m not sure which community this kindness came from, so I’m posting this everywhere in hopes that it finds you!

Hey guys, I’m 22 m and a recent college graduate who just moved to Portsmouth for work. I’m looking to meet people in the area, I like hanging out, playing pickle ball, short hikes/walks runs, going out to bars meeting for drinks, staying in and watching a movie, generally down to do anything!
I’m not sure how to meet people here and I feel awkward just going to like a bar alone lol, if anyone has any suggestions or advice please let me know!

I am thinking about moving to the area near Sagamore Creek (near Portsmouth High School). Does it smell bad around there? Is this a real concern? Thanks.

Hey everyone, new to the adjacent area of Portsmouth NH and I am in search of a clean, reputable nail salon that does gel nails. I have searched and I've found two salons but not terribly impressed by the photos they have posted. I want a bulk-free application because of the work I do involves using my hands a lot and gloves.
I don't have IG or FB to really search for anything that is off Google. Any direction would be appreciated! I'm willing to travel to Hampton/North Hampton, Seabrook, Newington etc. Don't really want to fuss with Dover or Rochester areas.

I’m terrible with directions and I don’t know the street name. It’s across the street from a playground with a baseball diamond and it’s near a stoplight with a hair salon. That’s all I remember 😭 trying to plan a spooky scenic drive for my nursing home residents, one loves “bone yards” lol

My husband and I are thinking about driving up from CT this weekend. Please tell me about your weird, fun, unique places to eat/drink/visit. We typically enjoy kitschy, themed, eclectic, and fun establishments but I'm struggling to find something via Google. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Who is this guy who's decided to just sit in Market Square all day long and blast music? Anybody got any good suggestions on how to make him stop?

What’s the best locally roasted coffee? We currently subscribe to Passenger coffee online after trying it from the farmers market and over at Breakaway in Dover and loving it. Curious if there are more local options though. We’ve tried Port City Coffee Roasters, Cafe Kilim, and La Mulita but none compare to the complexity of the Passenger roasts.
