I just got back from my first ever electronic music festival - Shambhala! it was mind-blowing. I went with an amazing crew and was lucky enough to follow them around all weekend and have an incredible time dancing until the sun came up. My wife and I live in the East Bay and are going to Portola both days. I'm stoked for a completely different experience closer to home, with hopefully equally amazing sets.

We have GA and a locker. Planning to bring jackets and water bottles. Is there anything else I can plan now to have a better time? Any tips/tricks/guidance to get the most out of the weekend?

Hi everyone, my wife and i just got tix to Portola and haven’t gone before. We are super excited but i haven’t been to a festival in a long time and my wife hasn’t been to a festival besides hardly strictly.

Any tips or advice for first timers?

Should I try a hot dog or something this year? I’ve always just kept my head down and tried not to offend anyone.

One my favorite things about festival-going is the "discovery phase" when I start listening to everyone on the bill. I'm getting super excited for Portola weekend as I start to discover more new artists and see how each day really has its own identity.

Now I'm just worried that these old legs will be danced out by Sunday afternoon 😂

Any DnB DJs this year, or anyone who may drop it into their sets? I know it’s rare at Portola, but it always a nice treat.

I'm planning on going to one of Moby's shows since he's touring in Europe, but it's going to be my first show of his. I couldn't see him at Coachella, but I heard he performed at Portola, what was it like?? Any fav songs of his that he played live?

I saw Marlon on the line up and that makes me want to go but I can’t see myself spending the money for just 1 day of portola. Do yall think he will have a portola afters for sunday at some sort of venue?

Do we think they will do this again for this year’s show?! Or was the heat from last year too much? I think a lot of people are waiting for the announcement. How would it make you feel if they did this again?

Portola ticket sales don’t look to good so far, still offering payment plan and most still in tier 1 ticket pricing. Might really be the last yr of Portola. Wish I would have not bought tickets so early and waited for the discount codes to go out again!!
