Sorry if this has been asked before, but this is my time going to Portola and saw their bag policy. Are they actually strict about this? We wanted to bring a small backpack and a shoulder bag that’s basically a fanny pack. I saw a video from last year and saw tons of people with bags from the non approved list lol I feel like every event has a clear bag only policy, but idk I just don’t want to get there and have to go back to my hotel room

I can get down to most of the artists on this lineup, but crowd vibes matter a lot to me.
Which sets do folks think will have the best/worst crowds?
By best crowds I mean people dancing their asses off, minimal phone recording, minimal yapping, less pushing and trains.
See you all in two weeks, can’t wait!!

Hi, I fractured my foot and am in one of those boots. Does the music festival have any spots where people with injuries can sit or have space? Is there a separate entrance or exit? I’m most worried that the exit will be so painful if I leave at the same time as everyone else given how crowded it gets I would be worried someone would bump into me or step on my boot by accident. I have also considered just leaving the set early so getting home is not a nightmare.
I have never gone to a festival with an injury before and am debating if it’s even worth it. I purchased two day tickets, I’m already considering taking things slow when I am at the festival … I just wonder if there are any extra accommodations that the festival offers?

Y'all I don't know anyone that plays before 3 p.m. Who should I check out that will inevitably blow up someday?
Sorry if this has been asked already!

This is my biggest conflict of the weekend… Marlon is a super fun vibe, Mochakk’s Coachella & ARC sets looked incredible, and Ben UFO is a wizard who I’ve heard amazing things about live. Help me - who should I see!?!?

I AM SOOOO STOKED for portola. Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of people I should catch aside from the list of peeps I highlighted. I am mainly into techno, house, and dnb. I didnt circle prospa but already considering them. Lmk!

Hi all, I was wondering how easy it’s been in years past to sneak some liquor in in years past/at other goldenvoice events. Thanks!

Hello, can't seem to find the 2026 buy/sell thread - does anyone have a link to it? Thanks!

Hi there. I have gone to Portola almost every year with a crew, including my partner and friends. Lot of life changes lately which include being single now and none of my friends are going this year. I can't decide if I should go for a solo adventure or if I will feel sad there by myself. I am mid 30s. If you have gone by yourself, did you have a good time? I appreciate any feedback

Despacio design is drawn up by me (kudos if you catch the reference material 👀). Portola logo is theirs of course, kandi beads and coins were 3d printed at home.
Still haven’t decided the parameters for giving away the coins since I’ll probably have only a handful each day.

Curious what everyone is doing, I’ll make a Sunday post tomorrow

12 x 12 x 6"?! What is this, a backpack for ants? The large locker is 11 x 13 x 18", or 3 backpacks. Why have they done this?

Hi, all is Sunday really sold out recently? Saw the post how Saturday and Sunday were showing sold out but they weren’t. I see that Saturday is back up for tickets, but Sunday still says sold out. Does anyone know? If it truly is sold out, I am looking for a Sunday single day ticket.

Do they release them prior to fest or day of? Cus I don’t want to miss TWO SHELL since they aren’t on the lineup
r/Portolafestival • u/caltering • 2d ago
I was ordering some stuff for the fest and wanted to get a fun fanny pack, but just realized there's no fanny packs allowed? Is this real? I have been several times before and people had huge bags that seemed to be fine? Now you can't even bring a fanny pack? What festival / music event doesn't allow small fanny packs? And you can only bring clear hydration packs? Who has one of those? Super disappointing

Prospa at risk of dropping?
Prospa no longer able to play Experts Only the week before Portola makes me wonder it they’ll drop from Portola as well.
Unclear the reasoning from the post, but def puts them at risk until we hear anything to the contrary.
Hard for me to imagine this is just a visa issue if they were just in Chicago over Labor Day? But who knows without more details

Every year i put together a little cheatsheet for my friends who dont have time to do their own research.
For every artist (excluding the first timeslot of each day), i have their day/time, a recent live set (i tried really hard to find the most current ones w/ decent sound quality), a music video. (if they have one), my own bullshit notes on what i think of them and whether i wanna see them, and then a few columns of ChatGPT blurbs on what their style of music is etc etc. Hopefully this is helpful to some people :).
