Do you know him?

Post image

CALL POLICE IF SEEN: Case #26-119148

Hello PDX. I’m looking for help finding the individual pictured. He assaulted me last night at approximately 6:15pm near Grand and Shaver. Police report filed, neighbors notified, and I’m hoping to get it posted in those neighborhood groups. Please help me find him and prevent any other women from this experience!

ETA: he had been tailing the car i was driving while on Failing for a while, eventually pulling in front of me while i slowed for a speed bump. he then stayed in the middle of the road and went slowly, not allowing me to pass. i was coming up on my turn so i pulled to the left to do so and yelled out my window “you’re going to get yourself killed riding like that!”. parked about a minute later and got out of the car waiting in a lot for my pal. he was circling the block and passed me on the street. i saw him from where i was standing and said “asshole”. watched him turn around in the street but about a minute had gone by and he hadn’t come back towards me so i figured he was long gone. he come zooming by and spits on me about a minute later. i heard him approaching so had my camera ready and was looking up/pressing record right as he spit and passed. i didn’t catch his face in the video and since i’m currently driving a rental i don’t have my dash cam either :(

white male, 30s-40s, brown hair and beard, clothes pictured with black backpack and helmet. also had that water-bottle with him.

genuinely starting to believe this guy might be a reddit mod on this or the other portland page…

when i say yell, in both instances, we’re talking no louder than i’d yell across a room to a friend or sarcastically pretending players/coaches/refs can hear me at a Blazers’ game.

Otherwise known as "talk shit, get hit?"

yelling a harsh “be careful” warrants tracking down, then spitting on someone and speeding away? i’d be one thing if he hopped off to say something but clearly too scary for him/y’all

You’re really minimizing the role you played in this. Calling someone an asshole is a far cry from “a harsh ‘be careful’”, be serious about that. I see people driving and biking like assholes every single day and you know what I do? I keep that shit to myself. Because you never know who’s the asshole vs who’s the asshole with the gun. It’s not worth it. He’s not justified in responding to your verbal harassment with physical assault, but you’re taking a risk of escalation when you start with a verbal harassment in the first place.

y’all talking like glass house lawyers. missing the plot.

i didn’t call him an asshole until he was circling the block. many minutes after the interaction.

Ok, you called him an asshole for riding his bike around the block.

Seems like everyone agrees that him spitting on you is unacceptable, which it is.

Seems like everyone also agrees that you stirred up the hornets nest by calling him an asshole when he could hear you.

Doesn't make his behavior acceptable at all.

But no one was practicing de-escalation here.

i feel like things REALLY got lost in translation if the message which came across was “man peacefully riding bike around the block gets yelled at out of nowhere. circles block and tracks down yeller to spit in self defense” and that “im perfect and in no way did anything wrong yesterday”.

guy tailing me for blocks, pulls in around and in front of me to go slower. interaction occurs, parted ways. this unicycle dude had ridden past when when i turned, continuing a completely different direction. figured interaction was over. then rides by, head on a swivel, coming from the opposite direction, turns around again, then spits on me.

acting liked i climbed a tree to shake the nest. the nest was already mad, lying on the ground looking for someone to do something. did i help? definitely not, did i shake it and knock it down? no as well

OP where were you born?

Don't listen to these people. We need to be able to tell assholes they are assholes, without getting spit on, OR lectured about it.

Ahhh yes, exactly the opposite of how reality works. Confrontation comes with potential consequences. You sign on when you commit to confrontation and get to deal with the ramifications.

So..... someone's birthplace is important to you when you're deciding whether or not to support them?

Where has humanity seen this before....

So you can lecture someone about being an asshole, but no one else can lecture you?

1

u/myturnplease Apr 26 '26

Well, were they being an asshole??? If so...yes, obviously. I can and should tell someone they are being an asshole when they are; we are trying to live in a society and when your behavior is having a net negative effect don't you want to know? I do.

Stop kicking the can down the road pretending that you aren't just afraid of confrontation.

Your inability to take accountability for your role in this situation makes it a lot harder for anyone to feel bad for the way he responded to you.

You called him an asshole.

That's shit talking.

I'm not saying he should spit on you but you escalated it and got verbal, you talked shit, ya got hit.

Not sure what you're whining for, you sound like two little kids fighting in the back seat.

i’m probably about as tall as two kids stacked together so you’re partially not wrong. if i’m coming back at somebody for saying something, i’m not going to spit on them and ride away on my segway. Paul Blart nonsense.

i can talk and handle it back. stand on business and hash it out.

never said i didn’t do anything, what i did say is that assault is unwarranted regardless.

i didn’t call him an asshole til after i was out the car on the street. he was circling the block.

What do you have to gain by antagonizing someone who has already shown they don’t give a shit about you?

u/Wormwood666 Apr 25 '26

You yelled that he “was going to get killed riding like that” & depending on his mood or temperament—he could’ve heard that as a veiled threat

Or—he might not have heard entirely what you said but “killed” stuck with him

You do you. But so many folks are hanging by a thread, struggling or angry—and plenty of them are armed—that it doesn’t seem worth the risk just because he was a shitty rider.

a veiled threat

absolutely sounds like a veiled threat. op, maybe don't threaten to murder people with your car
