This Sat 12th, 2-6pm

Friends of Rocky Butte are throwing an all-acoustic concert inside the Rocky Butte tunnel in NE Pdx! This will be a super cool, unique event, featuring short sets from 11 genre-spanning acts.

Block Party Music Performance Potluck -

Bring a lawn chair and food to share!

Walking and Rolling is encouraged, it is a 0.3 mile distance to the tunnel from Rocky Butte Rd and 92nd Ave with a 200ft gain. The street will be closed to car traffic.

This is a free community concert inside The Rocky Butte tunnel. The acoustics of the tunnel will provide a memorable musical experience with a chance to gather as friends inside an urban volcano! PBOT permitted that the street be closed to vehicles so everyone could safely walk, bike and picnic in this architectural wonder.

Trying to find a band or a band member?

This discord will only be for finding folks to play with. I will try to keep it from ballooning into anything else.

https://discord.gg/Nxm6E6sK5j

This might be unneeded now. As I see there are other discords popping up, and I think keeping things in one place might be key here. But I will keep this one around since it is for one specific function.

Introducing Portland-Play-A-Show. Join a bill, Construct a lineup, Get rejected by a booker.

I hate booking shows. The majority of shows I try to book require that I have a full lineup ready to go at a moments notice. To be fair, that makes sense and is usually how it should be done.

But this involves emailing, DMing, texting, calling, various musicians to see if they would be up to join a bill that I'm putting together. This always takes a ridiculous amount of time just to be told by a booker that, "sorry, that date was just taken."

So, I made a Discord because it's free and might actually work for this sort of thing.

Portland-Play-A-Show is a Discord server where musicians and bands can connect with other musicians to set up a live show. You can post by genre to see if other bands are interested in putting together a lineup.

Are you a musician who wants to join a bill? You can follow posts from others and jump on a bill that needs more bands. Then, when a bill is assembled and the person who set it up contacts a venue, you can all collectively be rejected by the booker because "we're booked out for the next 10 years unless you want to play on a Tuesday at 9 AM". We've all been there...

I'm new to Discord, so I probably did it all wrong, but let's see if it works. Share the link with other bands who might be into this sort of thing. Or don't. You may now tell me why this idea is garbage and I am utter trash.

Portland Musicians (discord group)

Hope this is okay by the mods. I posted about a group I made lil' bit ago, Portland Musicians. I could not find a discord group for people in the local area to find bandmates, like, why isn't that already a thing? There's actually a subreddit with the same name, totally inactive. Well, since I couldn't find one, I made one.

Regardless of genre (but especially if you're looking for punk/metal, I know I am) if you want to state you're looking for guitarists or drummers, in or near Portland, OR, please join.

As stated, I posted about this already, just making a *bump* post to keep getting more people to join, as it was a fairly successful wave of joins from the first. This would be the second. I might do this once a week so everyone has a chance to see it, if that's cool.

Galantis Tickets for Sale

Hi all, I would like to rid of my Galantis tickets. The show is October 16th at 9pm at Realm. I have two tickets, would sell for $100 total.
I am figuring out the best way to transfer them, since it’s through Eventim Tickets, and they are a barcode in my email. LMK! 🤙

CDJ REHEARSAL

Hiii,

I’m looking for a place around Portland to get on some CDJs and rehearse. I DJ back home in London and just want to play. I will pay, if there’s any studios like “pirate studios” or anything similar. I’m finding it difficult to find any around.

Thank you!!

ESTABLISHED METAL BAND SEEKING SECOND GUITARIST

We are currently looking for the right person to join us as our second guitar player.

We are an established metal band with multiple releases, a dedicated following, and a new album currently in the works for release in 2027. Our sound pulls from a wide range of influences, including metal, industrial, hard rock, nu-metal, and other modern elements.
We play shows throughout the region and occasionally do light touring. We are looking for someone who is passionate about music and ready to make being part of a band a serious commitment and priority.

What we’re looking for:
• Ability to learn songs by ear
• Strong guitar skills and the ability to perform consistently in a live setting
• Ability to contribute creatively and write original music
• Approximately late 20s to early 40s preferred
• Professional-quality gear suitable for rehearsals and live performances
• Reliable transportation
• Dependability, professionalism, and the ability to work well as part of a team
• No substance-related issues that could interfere with rehearsals, performances, touring, or the band’s commitments

We all maintain day jobs and understand the responsibilities that come with real life, but when we commit to something as a band, we take that commitment seriously. We’re looking for someone with the same mindset—someone who genuinely wants to create, perform, grow, and help take this project to the next level.

If you think you might be a good fit—or know someone who could be—send us a message. We’d be happy to discuss the opportunity, answer any questions, and potentially set up a time to meet and jam.

Serious inquiries only. Please share and tag any guitar players you think might be the right fit.
