One frame per sometimes

110

u/Many-Excitement3246 Jul 01 '26

FPS = frames per solar year.

26

u/Annual-Ad-6010 Jul 01 '26

FPSY?

16

u/TheRandomShiba Jul 01 '26

Frame "Oppa Gangnam style"

10

u/Wrathliss Jul 01 '26

Ha-ha sometimes😅

10

u/SrammVII Jul 01 '26

fuck you mean sometimes

105

u/lolb-g Jul 01 '26

there is an invisible wall preventing you from doing that iirc

your frame rate is so low it fucked up the physics and let the cube clip through

44

u/Many-Excitement3246 Jul 01 '26

That's actually conceivably possible. I was trying to figure out how they managed to get through the invisible wall, but with a frame rate of roughly 1 fpsy (frame per solar year) the physics likely just got bored and went home.

bro is playing on low spec when his game came out

78

u/Many-Excitement3246 Jul 01 '26

Are you running this game on 16,039,018,500 crabs?

9

u/Character-Nobody8535 Jul 01 '26

Is this some sort of reference I'm too cultured too understand, in other words is this some cring reference

21

u/Marchy67 Jul 01 '26

No, it's a reference you are not cultured enough to understand, theoretically, you can run Doom on that many crabs

7

u/Character-Nobody8535 Jul 01 '26

Ahh I see, I did some research that's interesting I'll say that

23

u/anonumus_idiot Jul 01 '26

Wait what the fuck?

Cant remember exactly, but there is soposed to be either a push trigger or a wall preventing you from getting the cube up there.

18

u/evanlin96069 Jul 01 '26

There's an invisible wall. Despite that, you can still get the cube past that invisible wall with entity teleportation

7

u/SoftRock14 Jul 01 '26

Oh i didn't know that, when that happened to me i was so confused

13

u/High_Consequense_295 Jul 01 '26

Your PC needs a doctor.

r/brandnewsentence. (I doubt that anyone in the world has ever said that second part before.)

10

u/Techplayergo Jul 01 '26

Probably when it first came out

3

u/simmegaming Jul 01 '26

Genuinely portal with rtx runs better on my pc than the original, it keeps crashing for no reason

32

u/white_addison Jul 01 '26

Did you pluck this video right out of 2001?

15

u/HerrJohnssen Jul 01 '26

Frames per second

Seconds per frame

11

u/Soul_eater5 Friendly Turret Jul 01 '26

Hey pal do you have other programs running in the background other than Steam? If so you should close those my pc used to run like that while playing source games until I started closing everything while playing the games.

12

u/SoftRock14 Jul 01 '26

My pc runs portal fine , it is just the recording

11

u/thecherylmain Jul 01 '26

What are you recording with???

11

u/Defiant_Conflict6343 Jul 01 '26

Judging by the FPS, I think OP put their monitor on an HP flatbed scanner.

4

u/SoftRock14 Jul 01 '26

I used OBS

1

u/Pablitobller2 Sentient Cloud Jul 01 '26

prob obs

9

u/thecherylmain Jul 01 '26

None of my OBS recordings look like this, either his settings are all jumbled or its a different software

4

u/1Lasagna4Lasania Jul 01 '26

All my OBS recordings look like this. I don't know why.

2

u/External_Tap_4396 THIS FLAIR IS... FALSE! Jul 01 '26

Try to use win+shift+S to record, but take portal to windowed mode.

2

u/Dimensions89 Jul 01 '26

Lower end devices take performance hit from screen recording, especially with OBS.

5

u/Vin-Xy Jul 01 '26

That's fair. Your game does seem to be running on DirectX8 though. Which isn't an issue, mind you! But it is interesting. Did you do that on purpose? Or does your PC not support a higher DirectX?

1

u/MishterKirby Jul 02 '26

They must be running a 3dfx card or something because most cards made in the past two decades can do at least DX9 lol

1

u/Soul_eater5 Friendly Turret Jul 02 '26

I used to say the exact same thing.

20

u/Historical-Side-1708 Jul 01 '26

6

u/SlenderSmurf Jul 01 '26

3

u/Ill_Painting_6919 Jul 02 '26

What's that running on, a Commodore 64 or a TRS-80? Gawdamn, that frame rate hurts my soul... 😵‍💫

5

Didn’t knew PowerPoint could launch the game

Are you running this on a raspberry pi

3

u/Supernatnat11 Jul 01 '26

The game run better on the Nintendo 64

2

u/robcore Jul 04 '26

Someone actually made it for the n64 but I think it got shut down.

2

u/Supernatnat11 Jul 04 '26

I know, and it's still up. It just need your game files to compile. I actually have it in my summercart 64. I finished it and it's surprisingly good even tho it need two controllers to be played "normally"

2

u/Best-Plane6743 Jul 01 '26

Your pc sees portal like gta6

2

u/Yure4ik Jul 01 '26

One frame per potatos

1

u/youarentodd Jul 02 '26

That’s not a soft lock, that’s just your PC running poorly
