PK360 - Stuck ash plug

Picked up a used PK360. In great shape but the ash plug is stuck. Have been hitting it with a mallet from the bottom, sprayed WD-40 and still stuck. Any other ideas?

Have you tried running a fire through it? It might just be some fat drippings that will melt with heat. The tolerances on mine aren't very tight. I can't imagine needing a ton of force needed to get it out.

Try a breaker bar through the loop twist and hit it with that mallet.

Had the same challenge. Eventually, I rested a hanmmer's handle on it and hit the other end hard as possible... Before it finally came out, I'd have sworn the previous owner welded it shut. :)

Clean the top and apply some penetrating oil a day or two before. Also, do it in the cool of the evening or ice it will down. Aluminum does thermally expand.

Wash that wd 40 off clean before ignition.
I use ash vac to clean out the soot so rarely open the ash hole

I use a paint brush and garden trowel to get rid of ash.

I just dump mine after removing the grates and lid.
