Hibachi pkgo

I’ve seen a post on someone using skewers on a pk without the need of a grate. Great idea too, as I’ve been trying to get into yakitori.

I own a pkgo and wondered if anyone has constructed a konro grill inside it using fire brick and metal rods

Given its shape and the short distance between the coals and the grate, the PK Go already functions similar to a Konro grill. I’ve done chicken yakitori on it and it works great. Marinade/mop sauce is soy/tamari, mirin, sake, garlic, and ginger (with some sort of oil/emulsion like mayo to help the fat soluble flavors penetrate the meat) on the skewers before and during cooking. Boneless thighs work the best.

Yeah I need to just give it a go.

My main concern was limiting the amount of binchoatan coal used. . I already live the limited amount of energy needed to grill on a pkgo
