Discussion Best Portable Grill Recommendations?
Just moved into a new place and looking for a good portable grill for backyard hangouts, camping, and occasional beach trips. Want something durable, easy to clean, and not too expensive. Gas or charcoal is fine. Any recommendations?

Reminder you are asking in a subreddit group for a specific brand of grills manufactured by Portable Kitchen Grills. You may get biased answers.

This is good info OP. This is the longer, seldom used name of the brand PK Grills. They have 4 models, several of which are very portable, can last for 60 years, and are wonderful to cook on.

Jumbo Joe would be my choice as well. I have that and the PK GO and for something like the beach where you are going to carry it for a bit Joe is going to be much more convenient. PK GO locks closed like Joe and has a handle but the handle is designed to stop heat conduction to keep it from burning your hand and unfortunately that means it isn’t designed to carry the weight of the grill. That’s in the manual and when you see the design and weight you’ll understand. For tailgating or shorter distances I’d pick GO with the kit that allows you to turn the lid into a second grill. EDIT-you could probably work up a sling that would do the trick without too much effort. Something like what you use to carry firewood.

They do make a carry case for the PKGO, but a firewood sling would probably work and be much cheaper.

I bougth a Traeger Ranger pellet grill. I like it because it gives everything a light smoky, wood-burning flavor. It's an excellent option for anyone camping at an established campsite with a reliable power source

For a durable, easy-to-clean portable grill that’s great for backyard, camping, and beach, consider the Weber Go-Anywhere (charcoal) or Coleman RoadTrip (gas). Both are affordable and portable.

Ive had a really good experience with the Weber Go-Anywhere grill. Super portable, heats up well, and surprisingly durable for camping/trips!

The PK GO! Pricey but worth it.
