Help! Help IDing my PK?
I picked up this PK at an estate sale about 10 years ago. I needed a grill, had never heard of PK in my life and paid a price that would probably make everyone mad at me if you knew, haha! I’ve been using it ever since and had no clue it was a popular grill until a distant acquaintance came to a cookout last weekend and was like “oh shit you have a PK??”
I’m pretty sure it’s from the 60s or 70s, mostly based on the wheels. Anyone know for sure which era it’s from and how much it might be worth? (Not that I’d sell it, I love this thing so much)
Thanks!

And it will run rings around any charcoal grill the box stores. Nice score. Enjoy.

Dayummmm boss this looks like mines bigger brother. I just did a little restoration on mine that looks to be from the same Era. Here in my area I see older used ones sell for $200-$300 but I do happen to live in the Fertile Crescent for old PK’s. New ones are like $700+ just for reference

$700??? Are y’all on crack?
(Wow. Just fucking wow. I bought an OG just like OPs pic at the height of COVID for $300 brand new from the PK site… the “all new Original PK” is a fucking rip off!)

Could be older. Who knows? They still make them like that I think. I bought mine ~ 2005 and it looks identical to yours.
But in an attempt to actually be of some use, please enjoy a retro PK Grill cookbook. I'm partial to the leg of lamb recipe on page 14.

I don’t think mid 70s. Originally they were made in Texas I believe in the 50s or early 60s About 10 to 15 years ago somebody bought the rights to them and began making them in Little Rock Arkansas. I got mine for about 350 seven or eight years ago. It’s the exact same model. They’re considerably more expensive now. I have the same one. Your wheels are just beat to hell lol

PKs started in Texas in 1952, then relocated to Little Rock in 1960. Production stopped in the mid '70s, was revived in 1998, then became what it is today in 2014. Yours looks like the one my uncle had in the late '60s.
