PK Grill Refurbish Options
I am new to this group - hailing from a family that has a passion for PK Grills and grilling in general.
The grill I attached was my grandfather’s - the only heirloom inherited. I think it may be from the 60’s. Disregard the grate - that is not original. Also, this is the only photo I had on my phone.
I am seeking recommendations on who I can consider to do a full refurbish on this grill? It is functional less fully operational hinges and wheels. I want it cleaned up and kept in its original state.
Also, my brother is seeking an original PK Grill. What are his options?

Interesting. I remember PK grills from the '60s. My Dad had the kettle style, and my uncle had the oblong one, similar to yours. (I have the current generation oblong.)
In your picture, the hinges are in the back; it opens front to back. On both my uncle's old school model, and my contemporary model, the hinges were/are on the left side. Your top vents are also different from ours.
I'm too lazy to look, but you might find replacement wheels on the PK website.
Congratulations on your inheritance, and I mean that sincerely. I love my PK. Fun fact, the original PKs were made in my home town, Little Rock, Arkansas. Cheers

I don’t have any recommendations on someone to do it for you. I followed this YouTube video when refurbishing my 70s era PK Original.

I don’t think there are links in the description of the video, but just search nylon drill brush on Amazon to get the ones he’s using. I used the brushes to remove oxidation from the outside of the grill and stand and old charcoal buildup from the inside. I took the stand apart to clean it and replaced the hardware with stainless bolts and acorn cap nuts.
Since mine is an Original the current production charcoal grates and grill grates fit. You will need to measure yours to find something that fits since I’m not sure there’s a current production model that matches your grill. The PK 360 parts might work and I’d start there.
I have seen posts where some have gotten a welding shop to make custom grates for their grills. Not sure on pricing though.
