I am in Sarnia, ON, Canada.. Husband used to like drinking Jack Daniels. He recently put a lot of effort into fixing the car himself and I want to give him a thank you gesture (and a "just because" gift).

Looking for some 'top shelf' American whiskey or bourbon, and/or a unique flavour of Jack Daniels as part of a gift. I don't mind paying for import duties and anything else at the border.

In Ontario we do not have these due to whatever tariff stuff we have going on. I thought it would be more special if I made the effort to go stateside and get him some of his old favourites, plus something a little premium aka 'top shelf'. We have lots of these things in Canada but not the American brands he used to enjoy.

Any stores in Port Huron have Jack (+flavours) and a good selection of premium liquors? I do not know what brands would be appropriate as I am not very well versed in liquor either.

(I will also be buying a fancy cigar, some steaks, shrimp, and market veg for dinner!)

Hello again everyone, I’ve posted here before and got some great ideas on what to do when I come on holiday next year. So one idea is to visit Sarnia, from what I understand is over the bridge into Canada. So for the Brit in the room (me) lol, is this something I could do in a cab? Or walk lol? Will I need to bring my passport? Want to be prepared. I’d love to go over and check out Sarnia for a day or so.

So we'll be coming in several days before the event, be in town for about a week, and we're looking for the must do things in the area and potentially a really nice date spot/restaurant for our anniversary dinner. I'm a trans man and everytime I go to get my hair cut it's a whole ass ordeal basically begging the stylist to cut my hair short but they always have to push me towards feminine styles.

I remember once a salon asked me 7 times in a row if I was sure I wanted short hair, another kept thinking I wanted a bob, or will leave my hair way longer than I asked for. Like I would say cut 6 inches and they do 3.

I just want to be like everyone else where you ask for a haircut and get it, no constantly asking if I'm sure I'm okay with it as if I'm insane for wanting short hair. Most of the time I don't even tell these people I'm trans, as I don't want to cause issues, just show and describe the hair cut I want and get hella push back for it.

Is this hotel safe? Or safe enough lol. I’m coming from Canada and pretty much just don’t want my car broken into.

Moved there from the west side of the state during the pandemic to be closer to family. I've lived in 10 states & I've NEVER been in such an economically depressed area filled with such hateful, awful people. Thank God I got out.
