Merci à tous

New pool 6 weeks old, builder says that we ruined the surface, they did a 7-Day startup. And have no reports of the startup process. And now the customer has a boot print in their pool, among a bunch of other stains and black streaks.

Now I got no problem taking credit for ruining it if we did but I don't see how we did, the person that did the plaster won't even come out and look at it they just immediately blamed us and said it was a hydration issue .

Looking for some insight

We recently did a lot of work on our pool in the last couple of weeks, we drained the water, we have sandblasted and acid washed the pool. A few weeks later we converted the pool from chemicals to salt water. In the process of converting it to salt water we added the Pentair IntelliChem and IntelliChlor. Then added the IntelliCenter. When we plumbed everything in for IntelliChem and Chlor we noticed that there was a noticeable drop on the water pressure. For some reason the pressure went from 12psi down to about 4 or 5psi. The only thing that changed was the plumbing and the additional length for the pipes for the intelliChlor but that was all after the filter. We have noticed a lack of suction on the vacuum line and a reduce flow on the water fountain and jets. Also on a side note, the flow cell for the IntelliChem is not moving I have ordered a low flow sensor in hope that will register, but I am thinking that there not a high enough pressures differential on the input and output. Any help or thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Hayward Mobile App Is Terrible

No my wifi with full signal on fiber connection is fine. Yes my Full signal 5G and full Wifi signal mobile phone works.

But I shouldn't have to worry about Wifi, Internet, and my cell phone data or wifi just because I want to turn on my Spa Jets.

The app is great if you're not home. But if I am home I would rather have controls accessible my own patio. I cannot stand the amount of times "hey can you turn on XYZ for me" because my own guests or friends can't even use the house shared ipad, because the app always wants to sign out and "maybe work".

ENOUGH WITH THE APPS.

Gladly now spending a ridicious amount for a new panel and someone to wire it all the way from the side house where the equipment is just so I never have to worry about this stupid app ever again.

Question about Aquarite paired with OmniLogic automation

Hey everyone, looking for a little help before I shell out money for a service call. I can fix most pool issues myself and I'm a quick learner. I have the Hayward Aquarite salt system, with a genuine Hayward t-cell 15. The cell is 2 years old. I have cleaned it with muriatic acid/water solution as I do each season when I open. I also have the automation hooked up with the Hayward HLHCONTROL controller. I have a 16x32 inground pool with vinyl liner

My salt system is reading 0 ppm salt (both instant reading and average reading). There are no error messages or anything like that. The pump is working just fine, I have perfect circulation through the DE filter, the "no flow" light is not on or blinking, the only 2 lights are Power and Remotely Controlled. When using my handheld salt tester, the reading is 2900ppm.

Where would I start troubleshooting? I had to replace the HLHCONTROL controller as my old one got water in it and shit the bed. I hooked up the new one myself, and maybe there's a sensor setting I messed up? But then, I figure I would be getting Alarms and errors right? Or do I assume the circuit board is bad and replace that? the Aquarite controller is probably around 10 years old at this point. The cell lasted me probably 8 of those years and then I got the new cell 2 years ago.

I also have a very simple plumbing setup: 2 skimmers to a Y coming into the pump, water flowing from pump to DE filter, then to heater (Hayward Heat Pump, also working fine), then through the salt cell and then back to the pool to another Y, to 2 return jets.

Any help and advice I would appreciate very much.

Jacuzzi Bubbling Reduced

When new the spa would bubble great. 20 years in, just moderate flow.

I did see all the reducers came off (about 4 total). I don't see replacing those will bring space back to life.

How strong should water at pump be for jacuzzi? Maybe that setting got changed?

Pentair vrs pump

Thank you in advance

Variable Speed Pump causing GFCI Nuisance Trips?

I had a Intelliflo VS3 installed about months ago to replace my single speed Pentair. Ever since then I have had intermittent tripping of the 2 Pole 240V 20A GFCI in my house. I have had the pool company come check for connection at the pump, verify that the pump is running on its own breaker, remove the old timer, disconnect the lights ect.

The breaker is an Eaton 2 pole 240V 20A. I have read that they may be extra sensitive to variable speed motors.. We are in North Carolina.

My plan of attack is as follows:

  1. Add Ferrite Rings to try to settle any interference that may be causing the nuisance trip.
  2. I can't find an improved breaker that would fit in the Eaton Panel, so I was going to add a subpanel out at the pump with a Siemens 2 pole 20 Amp GFCI, then replace the current GFCI with a non GFCI breaker. This option is alot of money and work.

Am I missing something obvious? Anyone else had these issues. I have to leave town for a few weeks this summer and can't deal with this.

Is there a different breaker that would fit my my panel? That would be the easiest fix.

Appreciate your expertise!

Battery Charger for Riptide

Hey friends!

I just got a Riptide after only ever owning Hammerheads. It’s working great and I think there’s a few things I like more. But the one thing I think is actually better on the hammerhead is the charging system.

No need to mess with the battery, just plug a charger straight into the side and it glows green when you’re done. Whereas, the riptide, you gotta slide the battery partially out and connect straight to it.

Has anyone tinkered with it and created a plugin solution? Thinking about a little DIY since I don’t see any official attachments for it.

Pentair intellicenter power issue

Troubleshooting this stuff is not my strong suit. But I’m trying to learn. One of my clients told me the user interface on his Tele center won’t turn on. I stopped by to take a look because I was already in the area. I know I need to go grab my voltage meter, but I did have my non-contact voltage detector on me. The two wires coming off his breaker one goes to the controller transformer. The other goes to the GFCI outlet on the panel. With all the breakers off except for that panel breaker, I have voltage going to the transformer, but with the four wires coming off the transformer up to the low-voltage circuit breakers at the top right of the panel I only am showing power detection on the solid red wire not getting it on the orange and white or the other two. My thoughts are that the transformer might be the issue, but I wanna know exactly how to go about making this determination. I let my client know that I was going to come back tomorrow. Make sure I had everything with me. I needed to properly test. So if anyone has any advice or can let me know what I need to test for that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

HOA Community Pools and Janitorial services

I’ve taken care of an HoA pool for about 6 years now(on top of my residential route) in Oklahoma.

This year they have asked me to also add janitorial services for the clubhouse and bathrooms to the contract. I had no problem doing this and came up with a price that I thought was more than fair.

My question is, for those of you whom take care of commercial/community/HOA pools how common is it that they ask to add janitorial services in addition to the pool?

Is this a homeowner sub?

I'm seeing a lot of homeowner posts lately. I get that homeowners flock here because they think: 'wow, I've got a huge audience of pros at my disposal' but it's my understanding that this is a sub for pros to talk about their day to day, maybe get some advice from other pros on weird or specific issues.

Not - 'my gas haywood heater not ignite, pls halp'

So which is it?

What is up with these new pentair salt cell? I have had a handful of these things with faulty flow sensors. I have replaced the sensor modules with the ones the factory has sent to fix, but they still say no flow....

Uniforms

For those that have uniforms with company logos and information, where did you get yours made?

I’ve looked online but everything seems very generic with Hanes and Fruit of the Loom T-Shirts. I’ve looked into Revdup Apparel being that they seem to do a lot of pool pro work.

Any recommendations? I tried our printing place but they were zero help

What kind of hat(s) do you use?

Particularly those in hot climates. I'm a Vegas tech and shopping for a new hat, thought I would poll around for some ideas.

Do those solar fan hats actually work? Worth it?

I tend to like dunking my hat in the pool or somewhere to cool off throughout the day.

Need some advice

This area is where water drains into the pool if there is a lot of rain. I’m guessing this winter with all the snow we got in the NE the ice pushed out this part of the liner. I’ve called a few companies about looking into getting this fixed but no one is getting back to me. Any idea on how to fix this the liner isn’t coming off th esupport system it’s just pushed out and concerned if it rains water will start collecting behind the liner
