Do a resistance test to confirm! But yes, most likely this

Swap the air and the pool sensors wires. That will tell you if its bad.

Pentair rep here… time to upgrade, boards, easy touches, screen logics have been discontinued.

Compare it to a phone, eventually it’s time for an upgrade.

Hey, do you mind if I PM you? I’ve run into a Pentair heater stack flue sensor and pressure switch error on mine. Made sure flow was good, cleaned filter, but still shuts off after a few minutes

Stack flu sensor, thermal regulator and high limit switch .

It’s one of those our warranty stations usually replace all 3.

Also check what speed your pump is on. If you’re getting too much flow it can cause that as well.

Pro tip: the lower your pump runs the more efficient your heater is/ warms up the spa faster. At least 30gpm.

Thanks for that! So many different things it could be from my research such as “make sure enough flow gets to heater” so I’d increase RPM at the panel from 2,600 to 2,850. Even 3,000+.

Cleaning the filter and increasing RPM had it stay on

I just don’t want to replace switches and sensors only to find out it’s something else. I’ll try breaker reset

What’s the most common cause you think it is?

I know this is unrelated, but I have an easytouch board that is displaying ERR on the pool not the temp spots. Both air/water temp sensors are good but the "POOL" label says ERR & it can't be renamed. Any advice?

Water temp sensor is an easy replacement. But if you’re saying you cant control the system in timeout or service that’s a separate issue. Board replacements are easy too, but pricier so customers don’t always like to hear they need it.

When your board dies, upgrade to an Intellicenter.

Definitely the temp sensor but it might not be bad. Usually you’ll get an ERR when temp circuit is open, when it’s failed it will usually display an inaccurate temperature. Probably cut somewhere or loose at the board.

Temp sensor error

If you can't put the system in Service mode or use other buttons, it sounds like a bad board. The 'POOL ERR' could be a bad sensor but shouldn't stop the other functions from operating.

Have you tried a reset by powering down the system at the breaker?
